The Wicked Witch's Lake - Kathy Barnett
Werewolves, Leprechauns and Goblins
In a far off land there is a serene lake that glows as if light is shinning from the bottom of its pit. A beautiful rainbow shimmers with sparkles of blue, yellow, green and red. When a leprechaun sees it, he climbs on top and slides down. He thinks that a vast pot of gold is waiting for him at the end.
The leprechaun enjoys the dazzling sparkles of colors as he slides on the rainbow. Suddenly, all of them turn dark and dreary. He realizes that he has been deceived by magic and trickery. Hopelessly, he falls into a glowing lake. The leprechaun is instantly turned into an ugly goblin; thanks to Saria, the wicked witch of the forest.
Unfortunately, he is not alone. In the past, many of them have become servants to her. Through her powerful spells of darkness, she controls their every move.
Mind you, a leprechaun’s pocket is deep. In it there are many pieces of gold. Since Saria has him under her control, he easily takes his gold and melts it down in a big pot. Then, the now ugly goblin forges it into a golden brick; enlarging her castle one at a time.
Saria is ugly because of her glow of darkness in her heart. Her spirit on the inside is cruel. It is filled with hatred and meanness. She does not care who she hurts. Her happiness thrives on taking what she wants. This makes her evil grow stronger.
At one time Saria was beautiful and sweet natured. She was found in the woods when she was about two years old by a pack of werewolves. They raised her.
As she grew older she realized that her good spirit was being overtaken by evil. Saria really liked it. With the further passage of time,
