About this ebook

This book lists possible items you will need in case a disaster or crisis occurs. It is actually two lists: one is alphabetized and the other is categorized. Many of these items listed you already have. Some of these you will never get or use. I have found that there are two frustrating things with preparing. One is forgetting something, like toilet paper or matches and the other is finding a store to buy what you need. This book not only has two lists of preparedness items but also a link to a website with the same lists containing over 1200 source links for most of the items. This will not only help you find and get your necessary items it will also save you time and money. You can quickly have your supplies/gear shipped to your home. Many of these links are informative how to eBooks and DVD’s to equip you with knowledge and skills. Knowledge and skills weigh less than gear and is already safely stored. Having gear is no guarantee you will survive. If you are caught away from your supplies/gear you can still survive if you have the knowledge and skills too.
This book also has a chapter on the EMP/CME disaster threat that looms over this country. If an EMP/CME event ever takes place the power grid will fail. Without electricity modern conveniences will fail. There will be no power to even pump drinking water. There will be no time left to prepare then. For example within three days, without a riot, there will be no food left on the shelves of grocery stores. This book contains a link to the 208 page government report describing the effects of an EMP on the nation if you want to read a detailed list of infrastructure failures due to an EMP/CME. This chapter includes an essay on preparedness as well.

    CRISIS PREPAREDNESS LIST

Greetings, with the recent news of Ebola out breaks and the possibility of quarantining large segments of the population it has become more imperative than ever to have long term food/supplies on hand. Just staying at home with limited trips to the store for essential groceries is not enough protection because you risk infecting your whole family by contacting one infected person or object. The safest way to get through an outbreak, any outbreak or crisis, is to have no contact with anybody and that means having food and supplies on hand for the long haul, weeks or months.

When one considers preparing for any crisis important questions come up. What do I need? Where do I get it? Where do I store it?"

With this list in hand you will be able to decide what you need. Actually there are two lists here; one is alphabetized and the other is in categories. They have the same items just grouped differently to help you get organized. Also to save you time and help you find and get your preparedness items this same list with over 1200 source links can be found at http://mypreparednesslistco.ipage.com. You can quickly have your supplies shipped to your home.

Being prepared gives you confidence and courage, eliminating the stressful and paralyzing feeling/effects of fear. You will have peace of mind knowing that you don’t have to go out into the crowded streets to stand in line for a piece of bread from FEMA.

Preparing comes down to the basics:

Shelter - you have to have shelter to survive.

Food - you have to eat to have the strength to survive.

Water - without it you will die in three days and without a clean source you will get sick and die.

Gear and location - What items do I need and where do I safely store them? Ask yourself Can I survive at this location for the short term and the long term? Do I need a remote/alternate location?

Knowledge and skill - What do I need to know? Read and study. Practice what you’ve learned. Knowledge and skill weighs less than gear and is already safely stored. Having gear is no guarantee you will survive. If you are caught away from your supplies/gear you can still survive if you have the knowledge and skills.

Belief and willingness - Believing you can survive. Believing you can do it means you can do it. ‘Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve.’ Have the willingness to do it.

Security - Be careful who you tell or show your supplies to. If there is a food shortage they will come to your house to eat, welcomed or not. They will probably bring their hungry family/friends/gang with them. People will be unpredictable if they are hungry, sick, scared and fear driven. There is safety in numbers and having a group to help each other
