    Chapter 1

    What Now? –Rhianna

No one ever tells you what happens after you graduate college. They make it seem like going to school is the hard part, as if getting good grades and keeping up your GPA is all you’ll ever need to focus on.

Don’t party Ames, my dad would constantly tell me when we actually spoke on the phone. You need to keep up your grades. It’s the same conversation every single time we talk, which has me limiting our interactions to once a week.

They don’t let you know that life gets in the way of those grades while you’re still in college, whether it’s in the form of a guy or girl, or picking the wrong major.

He broke it off, saying he met a girl last night. I thought we were doing great this time, Ames. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. She sobs so badly she develops hiccups.

Nothing is wrong with you, Jill. The guy’s a tool, but you need to stop taking him back. I can’t help but feel like I sound like a mother.

I won’t take him back after this. It’s our final semester of our senior year in college, and he’s obviously not going to change, so I will. She backs away from me, wiping her eyes.

For the first time since I met Jill our freshman year at orientation, I see a strength in
