    Rebecca has been blind for many years but there is a chance that surgery can restore her sight. Now she must raise the money for the surgery. Gideon left the Amish faith when Rebecca refused to marry him. He has been living in the English world doing what he loves, flying planes. But he sees Rebecca's story on the local news and heads home for the quilt sale that will raise money for her surgery. With his cold, she does not recognize his voice but she is attracted to this mysterious Englischer named Booker. Gideon discovers he is still in love with Rebecca and that he misses his life as an Amish farmer. WHen he asks his father to forgive him, his father tells him he forgave him many years ago. The bishop however, does not believe Gideon is home to stay.
