"It all begins between the ears". - A.H. ScottABOUT A.H. SCOTT -A.H. Scott is an author of fiction of varied styles. From contemporary to historical; she brings characters into stark view. Romances ever so sweet and tender to adventures of legends from far-away lands, her writing can take a readers’ imagination to places of courage, passion, pride, and sojourn of enlightenment. Yet, don’t be fooled, A.H. Scott does not let her pen rest on a single note of simplicity. She delves into desires within the heart with characters of sensuality and decadent lust. Women of abandon and men of lascivious intent intermingle in plots of hedonistic havens. Beyond the stars or right next door, her fiction soars and swirls with touches of light and excursions into shadow.========================A.H. A Delilah Archer Mystery: The Case Of The Cheeky Co-Ed
by
A.H. Scott
Chapter One
Delilah Archer’s penchant for discretion of information about members of influential society, gave her a client list that was envied by her colleagues in the investigative sphere.
Headquartered in Nashville, her detective agency was on the lips of those looking for surveillance and particular skills.
Shoulder length black hair with green eyes and slim build of 5 feet 9 inches, gave this beautiful woman entry into places where many who were considered ordinary would never be allowed.
That Monday in May, a new client walked through those silver doors of The Archer Agency.
Small operation of only three, provided a personal touch to each new customer into the doors of The Archer Agency,
Royal blue carpeting and black Lucite reception area was where clients first were greeted by Frederick Taylor, Delilah’s assistant.
Cyber-wizard Wesley Samuels was the only other person Delilah Archer trusted in this fascinating field of investigation.
On this day, Samuels was handling another case in Knoxville.
A Kentucky socialite named Constance Stuart was looking for a discreet way of keeping her daughter, Lottie out of trouble.
In this case, Delilah would have to go undercover in a town outside of Louisville.
Mrs. Stuart, tell me about Lottie
Delilah sat behind a black Lucite desk, as she began scribbling notes on a powder pink pad with black pen.
Constance Stuart pulled a picture of her daughter out of her red purse My daughter is the light of my life
Handing over the photograph to Archer and sighing But, lately she’s been changing
.
Well, she is 19
Looking at picture Cute kid
Delilah remarked Do you think she is afraid of something or someone, Mrs. Stuart?
Constance Stuart took a moment to collect her thoughts and began to reveal all which she knew about Lottie’s life My daughter is enrolled at Baynebridge Academy
Placing red purse on lap When she came home for a visit a few days ago, Lottie was in her room changing and I saw bruises on her bottom
.
Archer had to ask a specific question about this 19 year old young woman to her mother Is she dating anyone?
Not that I know of
Constance replied hesitantly, as she wanted some guidance And, that is why I am here hiring you, Miss Archer
.
Can I ask what kind of bruises were they? I know that this might be quite tricky to ask you, but she is a grown woman, Mrs. Stuart
Delilah Archer had been down this road in other cases of the darker side of sex before Some women enjoy something less than vanilla
.
Constance Stuart, dressed in pale blue dress with pearl necklace objected No! Not my Lottie. She is a good girl. She knows nothing about which you just spoke of, Miss Archer
.
Delilah stood up and approached this seated client I didn’t mean to offend you, ma’am. But, in my business, there are different and varied tastes
Holding picture of Lottie in hands She’s a beautiful young woman, who probably has a line of suitors lined up around the block
.
Well, she did have an ex-boyfriend that was less than suitable for a young lady like my baby girl
Constance Stuart gave more information about why she wanted assistance from the Archer Agency I also am hoping Lottie will choose to transfer from Baynebridge to another university
.
Tell me a little bit about Baynebridge
Delilah sat on the edge of her desk, reading through some material an assistant had provided earlier I see that the campus is small. So, maybe that is why Lottie is happy there
.
Miss Archer, I have no doubt that my little Lottie would be happy anywhere
Constance continued But, I want her to go somewhere else. And, if you could find out what she has been up to at that school, then maybe Lottie will realize it’s time to move along to somewhere else
.
I see
Delilah placed folder down Since I read you are on the board of trustees for this Baynebridge Academy, I will need some way to get in there and be able to see for myself what is going on with Lottie
.
Perfect, so you will take the case, Miss Archer?
Constance Stuart stood up and handed Delilah a key All of the information on a resume for yourself will be in locker 29 at Louisville Airport on Thursday when you are expected to arrive at Baynebridge
Yes, it seems like something right down my alley, Mrs. Stuart
Delilah Archer walked the client to the front silver doors Please don’t worry about your daughter, Mrs. Stuart, In three days, I will keep an eye on her for you
.
Thank you, Miss Archer
Constance Stuart placed black sunglasses on and exited out into a sunny Nashville morning.
Delilah Archer turned to her assistant Frederick Taylor Okay, find me everything on a Baynebridge Academy in Kentucky
Tapping fingernails onto reception desk I think this one will be a piece of cake
.
Never say that boss
Taylor uttered When it seems like cake, it becomes a fallen soufflé
.
Thursday arrived and Delilah Archer was off in her Oldsmobile for a three hour drive to Louisville on I-65.
As she was within quarter of a mile the airport, the transmission went on the fritz and a Mustang was rented to take her the rest of the way there.
Placing key into locker 29 at Louisville Airport, a thick white envelope was placed under her arm and she made the journey to the final destination
Mustang rolled into Pleasureville, under an hour and she realized quickly that this small town was dwarfed by Louisville’s bustle.
Through the gates of the Baynebridge Academy, a new teacher was beginning her time at this prestigious institution.
Delilah Archer had a new identity as Diana Archer from Las Cruces, New Mexico with a degree in literature and classical studies.
Being a trustee of the Academy gave Constance Stuart the ability to place names forward for employment in the teaching department. Luckily enough, one of the members of the faculty was on extended medical leave.
Constance Stuart set up the interview for a temporary English teacher with the husband and wife team who had been running Baynebridge for the past 10 years.
Sky blue suitcase was placed down next to the chair and resume was handed over, as Delilah sat down across from the Academy’s headmistress that Thursday.
Good afternoon, Miss Archer
Rosemary Wilton lightly spoke, as she looked through the folder with job information in it From the looks of everything here
Headmistress of this prestigious locale smiled I would say you are just the right fit for Baynebridge
.
"Thank you,
