The Deceived Truth - Sophie Fox
Chapter one
BANG! Ginny drops straight to the ground. She quickly looks down and checks to she if she got shot, she couldn’t see anything. Ginny stayed on the ground while she looked up to she what was going on. Down the other end of the hall was an opening to the courtyard for inmates. There were three guards fighting to retain a resisting inmate. Ginny quickly realized the gunshot came from one of the guards in the security tower. It was the inmate on the ground resisting who got shot however it was only a rubber bullet. The man was putting up a very aggressive fight. Ginny began to slowly get back up off the ground after having the fright of her life, she slipped her gun back into her jacket as she knew she wasn’t meant to have it with her. Apparently the man began assaulting a rival gang member in the courtyard and wouldn’t stop even after being pepper sprayed and shot with the taser gun, further action was required. Close call Ginny thought to herself.
Ginny looked over at the man behind the bars. He had a smile on his face, like there was something he wasn’t telling her. She smiled back at him.
That’s going to be the norm in here Mr. Tracey,
Ginny said in a smart way.
Ginny could tell Mr. Tracey didn’t like it in here, she felt good. She could sense that Mr. Tracy was hiding something regarding what happened that night, but she didn’t know how to get it out of him. He didn’t seem like he was going budge either, which only made matters worse.
Are you going to tell me? Or am I going to have to take issues into my own hands?
Ginny explained.
You really think you’re going to get anything out of me Ginny, come on, I know you’re not going to kill me. You’re too soft, I know behind that big and scary exterior that you use is a little girl who is crying on the inside. You’re begging for mommy and daddy right now, but you can’t do anything about it because you have to play the tough girl,
he cooed.
Ginny wanted to shoot him right here and make him suffer for what he’s done, but she kept her resolve. She wasn’t going to kill him, but she needed to get to the bottom of everything fast.
I am not fucking around here Tracey. Tell me what happened that night. A man in a lab coat attacked me and everyone started to go after me. Why? Tell me why!
Tracy laughed as he looked at her, the fury present in her eyes and her hands shaking as she looked at him. He loved seeing her get annoyed by him, he found it humorous and funny. He liked seeing a woman get mad at him, he liked to feel in control, make them give up.
Well what will I get in return? Why should I tell you everything that I know? You think killing me is going to scare me into talking? Please, I know that you don’t have the guts to, and deep down you only used that as a ploy to get me to give in. WELL IT’S NOT GOING TO WORK,
he shouted.
Ginny didn’t know what to do. How could she get him to speak, she needed to find an edge over him or maybe offer him something in return. The guards came to collect Mr. Tracey, Ginny looked over at where they were going to take him. They were sending him to max security, he was considered as a high-risk prisoner. With a lot of money comes a lot of power, the board of the prison weren’t taking any risks with him. They knew he had people on the outside that posed a threat.
How about this? You tell me what you know, and I’ll try to help you not get sent to max. I know that’s the last thing you want right? Well if you work with me, I’ll work with you. We can then both get what we want and then call it a day. Sound good?
she asked. It was the only bargaining chip that she had, and she needed to use it fast.
The man looked at her for a second, looking back and forth between her and the ceiling. He knew he wasn’t going to get out of jail, but if he went to max it would be a lot harder for him to communicate to his people outside the prison. He didn’t want to be completely caged up like his test subjects, even though Ginny would love to see him suffer like that she needed answers and this might be the only way.
Fine. You have a deal. But if you don’t keep your end up, you’re going to be sorry,
he replied.
Ginny nodded. She hated having to ‘reward’ him with something to get what she wanted. Sure things might get bad if she decided not to follow through with the deal but Ginny had nothing to lose.
Alright. Don’t worry about me, I don’t go back on my word. You better not either. Tell me everything you know.
The man took a deep breath, his body pressing against the metal bars while staring at her. He looked like a caged lab rat that needed to be experimented on. Ginny didn’t like to think about the horrors that went on in the lab they busted, but she also needed to keep a very straight face. There was no way she was going to crack. After a few moments he started to speak, and Ginny watched him with intent present on her face and a glare in her eyes.
Well, you were taken there by a secret organization called
Unknown". Good luck trying to find them, know one knows what to contact or reach them, if they want something they find you. Anyways, I was a researcher there. Apparently there was a case of twelve kids getting leukemia all at the same time as
