About this ebook

Cassie Trey is continuing her assignment to find and destroy a biological weapon being developped by Sparrow Pharmaceuticals, but finds things are getting complicated after she gets intimate with Oliver Riley, the head of the company.

Deciding she trusts him, Cassie tells him what she's after, and Oliver adds them to a business trip his father is planning to Oman, during which they suspect the weapon will be sold to terrorists.

Will this bring Cassie and Oliver Riley closer together, or has she made a potentially deadly mistake?

This 11,500 word spy thriller romance is the second instalment in the The Spy and the Billionaire triology, following Cassie Trey and the billionaire Oliver Riley. Here's an excerpt:

“Don’t worry about that for now, Clara. I was waiting for you to come back, so I could do this” he told her, leaning in for a kiss.

Cassie wanted to resist, she wanted more details about his plan, but she quickly succumbed to Oliver Riley’s lips on hers. His kisses were soft, but powerful at the same time. He pulled Cassie closer to him, and Cassie gasped as she was pressed up against this man’s hard, warm skin. She could feel his heat, as he pulled her close, as he continued to kiss her.

Mr. Riley slipped his tongue into Cassie’s mouth, and she closed her eyes, enjoying the kiss, kissing him back. She had just gone through an incredibly stressful situation, and this was absolutely making her feel better. Mr. Riley’s hands roamed up and down Cassie’s body, discovering her curves.

As Cassie’s alarm went off at exactly 6:15am, like it did every day, she groaned and got up, slipping into her running clothes before going for her morning jog. It was a habit Cassie had gotten into just after high school, when she realized it was a lot harder to keep her body in the shape she wanted to.

Now Cassie used her morning jogs to clear her head. And boy, did Cassie’s head need clearing today. Cassie worked as a spy for a secretive organization. They weren’t associated with any government agency. In fact, Cassie had no idea where they got their information, but her group was dedicated to stopping major crimes from happening. In short, Cassie was a spy. Her current assignment was to infiltrate Sparrow Pharmaceuticals and to find evidence that they were developing a biological weapon, find the weapon and destroy it before it was sold to terrorists.

However, Cassie was running into a few problems. Well, one problem in particular. As she turned right to head into the park Cassie enjoyed running in, she sighed as she thought about Oliver Riley. The sexy head of Sparrow Pharmaceuticals was almost certainly involved, but that didn’t stop Cassie from getting involved with him in an entirely different way. There was something about Oliver Riley. Something about him made Cassie weak in the knees. Something about him made her obey when he told her to take off her clothes. Cassie had never been submissive to anybody before, and yet the two experiences she’d had with Oliver Riley were proving to her that she enjoyed it.

Cassie didn’t like discovering new things about herself. At my age, I should know everything about me. I’m in my late twenties, for goodness sake. Well, maybe mid to late twenties. Not to mention, it’s dangerous to not know yourself perfectly in my line of work she thought as she jogged along. Cassie definitely didn’t like to learn new things about her.

She ran through everything that had happened since she arrived to Sparrow as Clara Doan, personal assistant to Oliver Riley. There had to be something she missed, something that would give her a clue as to what was going on. Suddenly, Cassie stopped dead in her tracks as she realized what it was.

It was something Oliver Riley had said to her just after he’d first seduced her, rescuing Cassie after she’d broken into the Sparrow Pharmaceutical labs.

Oliver Riley had told her that there was nothing that made the company his. That it would take years before he managed to do something that would make people realize it was no longer his father’s company.

Of course, developing a biological weapon would absolutely set Oliver Riley apart from his father. He wouldn’t have said that if he had something to do with it. Oliver Riley must not know anything, which means the mastermind behind this is... his father.

Cassie turned around and ran home. The entire way back she thought things through with this new opinion, and it made more and more sense. If he was behind this and knew Cassie had broken into the building, he wouldn’t have saved her from the guards. He looked genuinely surprised when Doctor Andrews’ body had been discovered the other day. Yes, the more Cassie thought about it, the more she realized they’d gotten it all wrong. Oliver Riley wasn’t involved in this at all.
