Preface
The purpose of this book is to provide new believers with a seven step plan from God’s Word that will help them walk successfully with God day-by-day.
While I am a Baptist by faith I am not trying to convert anyone to the church I attend, I am however desirous to convert those who have not received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior to Him.
It is my hope and prayer that God will use this book to help you walk with Jesus growing in your knowledge of Him and His way. What I’ve attempted to share with you is based solely on the Word of God and not a church’s philosophy. That is why it is loaded with God’s Word - that is what is important for our walk with Him.
May God richly bless you.

About the Author
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Stepping into New Life with Jesus.
When you received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior you were born again (John 3:3) and are now a new creation in Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17) and you are the recipient of God’s gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23). A lot has happened and will continue to happen as you become all God desires you to become. The journey of life has just begun and Jesus said that He came so that we might have life in great abundance (John 10:10).
As we step into this new life with Jesus let’s consider where we came from and how we got to this point in our new life.
When a person receives Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior he steps from death into life. How can this be? As a natural man we were walking and talking; we were busy with all kind of activities; isn’t that life? Not according to God.
You see the Bible informs us that life is in God and everything that is separated from God is dead. Because man is in sin; because man is a sinner and rebel against God he is dead; he is separated from God. To the natural mind this just doesn’t make sense; it is against everything he sees and feels and knows, yet God tells us that all man’s wisdom is foolishness (1 Corinthians 3:19).
Jesus offers to man ‘new life’; He brings man into a living relationship with God through the new birth and in that we are truly alive. Jesus illustrated this for us in His conversation with a religious leader of His day in John chapter 3.
When Nicodemus, a Jewish religious leader came to Him, He told him, Ye must be born again…
(John 3:3, 7). This birth is not a physical birth, it is a spiritual birth and as such it manifests itself for all to see.
Through this new birth we become the children of God (John 1:12) and a heir to all that is God’s (Galatians 4:7). Specifically, when one is born again they are made into a new creation of God (2 Corinthians 5:17), the old life, the old man is dead and they are alive. As a new creation in Jesus Christ our lives are to be different (Colossians 1:10) because we are now followers of God the Son who has saved us from the penalty of sin (Ephesians 5:1) and given to everyone that believes in Him God’s gift of eternal life (Romans 6:23).
In this new life we are to live differently by doing good to others (Ephesians 2:10) and introducing the unsaved to Jesus Christ so they may receive new life (Matthew 29:19 and 20).
Perhaps you are reading this book and have never personally received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, or you have already done this and are stepping out into new life with Jesus, but ether way it is important that we consider what is involved in a person coming to Jesus Christ and experiencing His salvation from the penalty of sin. To do this I want to use just the first three letters of the English alphabet. It is often referred to as the ABC plan of salvation.
We begin with the letter A
which stands for ‘Admit’ or ‘Agree with God’. What precisely do we need to admit or agree with God?
First, we need to agree with God that everyone is a sinner and admit that you are a sinner, just as I am and everyone else is. Romans 3:10 tells us: … There is none righteous, no, not one…
That’s pretty clear. No one is good enough to stand in the presence of a Holy God. Because of sin we are filthy. The Old Testament prophet Isaiah said it this way: But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; ….
(Isaiah 64:6).
When I think of filthy
