    Hi Tushar,

Needless to say, there hasn’t been a chapter where I haven't cried. Not one moment passed when I wasn’t terrified. No, I am not telling you that it scares women to death, I understand you know that. But, I just wanted to thank you for this post. Not that, I dint realize this earlier, but it did make my more cautious now.

    Thanks :)

A story which should spread like fire...

Such stories inspire victim's to fight it shows them the courage they need...

How I wish, everyone had the courage the protagonist had.... The courage she reflected is rare.

    Amazing Narration....

    siddharta January 22, 2009

it was great...I mean...not what happened in the story with the girl and all....but after reading it u can just realistically sit down and think that dude these things happen and something needs to be done about it....that feeling doesnt come after reading such things off the newspaper...honestly...

I truly stand up for u first of all, that actually u could write it in such way. I have read many novels, many books, but I can say with ease that this was the best piece of writing I have come across. I am extremely blessed that I came across ur blog, really wish that it does play it's role in making our senses work for such horrific acts. Please if u can put ur email Id, would definitely like to hear more from ur side. It was really great, continue with ur good work, wish we will be able to make difference to this world...and make it better place to live.

    hii

Very touching post....in this crime (rape) the victim has to bear all the hatred...without any fault of hers....even verbal abuse can affect the mental balance of a girl.Abuse is abuse, in any form.We need to open our eyes and need to respect the ladies.

Nice. Only the willingness to debate and respect each other’s views keeps the spirit of democracy and freedom alive.

    Foreword

There is a reason why Delhi is called the rape capital of our country. Almost every girl you meet here would have had at least one or two experiences of sexual harassment. Most of them are silenced, others… well, they learn to make peace with it. And then there are some who haven’t had it that easy. They were probably raped in the public toilet while you were talking on the phone with your spouse about today’s meal. Sad, but true. The Avenging Act is only a mirror into what a woman goes through when every single part of her body is violated for the sake of men’s big-bang theory. It is not only the woman who goes through the trauma, everyone who is close to her feels her agony when she is not able to find her old reflection in the fistful of water with which she splashes her face!

The psychological impact of such an event is so drastic that one is not able to come out of it for a long-long time! The society in which we live has conditioned us in a way that we turn a blind eye to such events even though we claim to be a modern lot. Unfortunately, education or class awareness does not guarantee a more effective reaction to a taboo called rape. We are accustomed to read about it so often that we have easily accepted its existence and instead of fighting against it, we sit in our living rooms and nod our head to the TV news about another rape victim.

One would never know what a rape victim goes through when she goes back to bed at night and cannot sleep because she still feels those bruises which map her devastation.

That Little Girl in the Print Floral Dress

The girl sat on the floor, with what seemed to be her school books lying all around, though in her hand she held a story book written by Enid Blyton. She was a fair, chubby girl with long brown hair and large brown eyes, and adorned a very simple white cotton dress with pink floral print that hung on her body up till her knees, looking very much like an old fashioned frock in its shape. The only difference was that below the waist, the dress opened up like a skirt and not a frock. At ten, her
