Samantha Gentry

I've lived most of my life in Los Angeles and earned my living for twenty years by working in television production. I was always interested in writing and dabbled at it, but not seriously. I combined my interest in writing with my avocation of photography and began doing magazine articles featuring my photographs. After selling several articles, I discovered I enjoyed the writing process as much as the photography. My friends told me I should make use of my television contacts and write scripts. I enrolled in a screen writing class at UCLA. By the close of class I knew screen writing was not for me. The other thing I knew was that I wanted to write novels rather than magazine articles.

    Chapter One

Casey Treadwell walked briskly across the lobby of the Seaside Inn. A little ripple of irritation assaulted her senses. One thing for sure, when Jennifer finally showed up, she would let her best friend know just how much she didn’t appreciate the way she had manipulated this last minute change of plans. And that was exactly the way it felt…as if she had been manipulated.

She continued on to the cocktail lounge, chose a quiet corner table with an ocean view, and ordered a glass of wine to calm her agitated nerves. She had agreed to drive up the California coast from Ventura early Friday afternoon to meet Jennifer at the Seaside Inn in Cambria Cove. Jennifer was supposed to be on her way back home to Ventura from a series of business meetings in San Francisco. A simple plan—meet between Ventura and San Francisco for a fun-filled weekend of hot sex with an as yet unknown man. A fling with a complete stranger.

A weekend where she could hopefully break the dry spell that had engulfed her love life for the last six months. A hot, no-strings-attached weekend affair with a sexy man. An encounter with a stranger that wouldn’t reflect on her reputation in the town where she lived and worked, especially since she worked for a company with contracts that required a security clearance. Even though she didn’t work in that department, she didn’t want to be the cause of any unfavorable attention.

The plan definitely sounded like a good idea when she and Jennifer first discussed it. She had been too chummy with her vibrator the last six months and desperately wanted to exchange it for genuine grade-A prime hard cock.

Her gaze traveled slowly around the lounge, taking in everything. The few patrons appeared mostly older, the men looking very married. That certainly did not fit Jennifer’s theory about the Seaside Inn being a good place for a wild weekend fling, for meeting someone incredibly sexy. Someone who would sweep her off her feet and satisfy her every wanton desire.

When she arrived at the inn, she’d found a message from Jennifer saying last minute complications had kept her in San Francisco for the rest of the day. So, why hadn’t Jennifer called her on her cell phone instead of leaving a message at the inn? Stupid question and a simple answer. Jennifer didn’t want to actually talk to her. She only wanted to convey the message.

Damn! She probably started her weekend in San Francisco, met some hot guy and at this very moment is in her hotel room fucking her brains out while I’m sitting here with only a glass of wine to keep me company and wondering if she intends to show up at all.

That certainly served Jennifer’s needs, but it didn’t do anything to lessen the throbbing need between Casey’s legs. Fortunately, the weekend wouldn’t be a total loss. She had packed some of the items from her toy chest. But rather than using them to enhance the experience as she had intended, it seemed they might end up the only sex she would get. She heaved a sigh of resignation. So much for the idea of breaking her sexual dry spell.

Are you here for the graphic artists’ conference?

The smooth masculine voice cut into her thoughts. She looked up into sky blue eyes, set in ruggedly handsome features framed by thick sandy brown hair. He flashed a devastatingly sexy smile, causing her insides to quiver. Her nipples puckered into taut peaks. An immediate image flashed through her mind, one involving this very desirable man with his cock buried deep as she writhed in orgasmic ecstasy—a definite testimonial to the current lack of sex in her life.

It took a moment before she finally found her voice. No. In fact, I didn’t know there was a conference being held here. But I’ll bet Jennifer did. Explains why she chose this inn and this weekend—the prospect of lots of men attending the conference. Maybe this won’t be such a disaster after all. How about you?

He looked around, then settled his gaze on her again. Are you here alone?

She smiled, suppressing an amused chuckle. Yes and no. I’m supposed to meet my friend here for the weekend, but she got held up in San Francisco on business and won’t be here until very late tonight or more likely late tomorrow morning. I’m not here alone for the weekend, but I am alone for now. She allowed an amused chuckle. That didn’t sound too convoluted, did it?

His laugh joined hers. I understood every word you said. I’m particularly adept at deciphering all things convoluted.

She tilted her head to one side as she allowed her gaze to drift across his handsome features. Not to repeat myself, but how about you? Are you here for the conference and are you alone?

Guilty on both counts. Would you consider me too pushy if I invited myself to join you?

Pushy? Yes, a little. But in spite of that, she flashed a teasing grin as she indicated the empty chair at her table, please do.
