Obese No More: How to Lose Weight –– And Why You Should!
By John Cully

About this ebook
Author John Cully is Irish, and you can practically hear it as you read this fascinating book in which he divulges how he lost 30 lbs in six weeks just by following a simple system he devised that made it easy for him. He introduces you to simple exercises, thought processes, and changes needed to lose weight, and does it in his signature tongue-in-cheek and tough-love tone, making it easy to feel motivated to institute the steps in his plan immediately.
"I tried this stuff on myself and, right enough, it delivered results. Without fuss, effort, dramatics, deprivation, agonizing or other irritations, nor any grim-faced roaming around stamping on kittens, over a period of around seven/eight weeks, I went from 233 pounds to 203, which seems a satisfactory enough outcome, all things considered. I am a normal five feet ten tall, not ten feet five, so the weight loss is significant." – Excerpt from the book, Chapter 1, Obese No More, by John Cully
The Obese No More Philosophy:
It is observable that the mere act of divesting oneself of significant weight is, for an obesity case a fairly straightforward procedure and not an onerous one either. This book indeed presents just such a procedure.
It has been very successful when applied by the author in his own case and accordingly may be confidently expected to do likewise for anyone honestly following it. Since it is also observable that huge numbers of people affected by this great plague of obesity in recent decades seem to have enormous difficulty in dealing with the problem other than ineffectually, one may infer that there may be other factors at play here.
Thus it seems appropriate to provide an overview of some aspects of the social and cultural order today, that some of these factors may be brought to the readers attention; that consequently this added understanding and the sense of empowerment thus entrained will engender a much more positive approach, and that the reader may be stimulated and motivated to a pitch sufficiently acute as to result in effortless success in regaining the good health which is their birthright.

PART THE FIRST.
Prelude.
Question; why are so many, yourself included, so overweight these days?
Answer; because they eat far too much.
This is not the question, because the answer is
---accurate
---obvious
---without utility
Question; why are so many, yourself included, so driven to gluttony, to this form of self-harm anyway?
Answer; aha, well may you ask.
This is the question, because the answer is that the reasons are cultural. A better understanding of Cause, by contextualising it, is what facilitates Cure.
Obesity--like the overeating which precipitates it--has it in common with many other aberrations such as substance abuse, alcoholism, kleptomania, nymphomania, bulimia and so on, that they arise in the first place from a State of Mind.
That is mainly where we are going in this book;
Right so, fatso; straight off, understand, you are not going on any diet. So relax.
(Note, ladies, the tone taken is fairly boot camp, though not needlessly so; it’s for your own good, because you will never achieve anything worthwhile without connecting with your male side and the manifold virtues that therein lie. Yes; I annoy).
This book is a manual of a sort; it has, though, more the format of a one-way barroom harangue. It is a kind of extended pamphlet or tract, if you like.
Come to think of it, this celestial work is even better understood as the one thing really needful here, as a good kick up the jaxie for yourself---verbally bestowed of course, with all love and compassion---as a wake-up call.
Who are you? (This question is repeated further on). We are assuming you to be probably, though not necessarily, of the female persuasion. We further assume you to be aged between eighteen and fifty eight, more or less; we assume that, while you may not scale anything too staggeringly stratospheric, you are way overweight and very far indeed from happy about it.
Two things to understand;
One is, this book will not make you lose weight.
Certainly, it will provide you with much that is useful for your use if you want to shed the lard, but—this is the other thing---only YOU will do it. Only you can drive the car; the owner’s manual illustrates how it’s done, but won’t do it for you.
SO.
First;
Don’t even dream of embarking on anything here without conferring with your medical advisor. He may metaphorically fling this book to the floor, denouncing it as irresponsible dangerous nonsense; he may trample it underfoot, call for my incarceration. Feathers, tar, these may be adduced; maybe too, quartering, drawing ………… if not evisceration……………...
He is your physician, take thought of what he advises.
Do NOT, for heaven’s sake, mention iatrogenic illness, nor the perception that more deaths are caused by medical intervention then by cancer and heart attack combined in the USA. Extraordinary, this, that physicians apparently kill a quarter of a million Americans a year, a fatality rate commensurate with American combat deaths in WW2. Think of that.
This is the leading cause of death in the U.S., heart attack being second, cancer third, drugs fourth. This is five times as many as are killed in traffic accidents and twenty times as many as are murdered by guns, that last statistic having been itself disastrously distended of recent years. (Most gun murders occur in the gulag of urban slums, sink estates and lawless fastnesses scarring cities everywhere in the western world, their existence being a consequence of the bogus science
, the disguised juju called Town Planning).
Don’t dilate on any of this; hush, do what he says.
Second;
in light of the above be it known that I am not a physician, nutritionist, dietician---I have no acquired and/or certified expertise whatever in this area. I being peerless, peer-review is out of the question. If you must know, I dabble in architecture and I keep some horses, otherwise living a life solitary and exemplary, one alike chastened and exalted, on a slender pension.
(Oh, yes; thank you for your custom).
But some things I do know, as do you. We both know that health and well-being are attained through the enabling, facilitating and empowering of the God-ordained, God-bestowed healing capacity integral to all living things, underpinned by appropriate diet, activity and lifestyle of course.
(Please don’t now announce yourself as an atheist, as though this somehow repudiated what has just been said. Nobody gives a toss what you do or don’t believe, most certainly not God Herself—why, She said as much to me just last week. Do try to get out more, why don’t you).
I tried this stuff on myself and, right enough, it delivered results. Without fuss, effort, dramatics, deprivation, agonising or other irritations, nor any grim-faced roaming around stamping on kittens, over a period of around seven/eight weeks, I went from 233 pounds to 203, which seems a satisfactory enough outcome, all things considered. I am a normal five feet ten tall, not ten feet five, so the weight loss is significant.
(Curiously; my clothes seem to have stretched, loosened………….).
Third;
you understand therefore that you read this book, and embark upon that suggested within it, at your own risk. If you careen over on the street in your death agonies, suffer any catastrophe, illness, mishap, misfortune, setback of any sort whatsoever at any point from here on, that is no business of ours.
Understand that your agreement to all the foregoing is being taken as read.
Fourth;
this book has two interlinked purposes. It will, certainly, enable you to get started, off the blocks, over the hump, off and running, up and away, metaphor of your choice; by following the ideas and suggestions it contains you should certainly drop weight significantly over a reasonably short time. But it also intends---and this is of far greater importance---to persuade you to a new point of view, new ideas, new self-confidence and self-worth, to a position from where you will enthusiastically move on to capitalise upon your gains, to realise that you have after all a real foundation upon which you can build.
In military doctrine this is called reinforcing success.
Our intent is to indicate How, which is and always was a simple and straightforward procedure, this can be done; but it also sets out to inspire you as to Why to do it.
Why?
