I awoke with a God-awful hangover as the piercing light of the warm island sun kissed my face. Any other morning, and this kind gesture would have been welcomed, a promising omen of good fortune and a blessed day.

    But not this day.

I moaned as I closed my eyes, wincing from the pounding throbbing heart beat pulsating through my temples reminding me of one simple truth: Never drink Bourbon again.

I let out another sigh as the curtains skid across the iron rod, too loud for my early morning haze. In annoyance and fright, I grabbed the blanket and lifted it close to my chin. I kept my eyes open though to see it was nothing harmless. It was Tessa from the Jacuzzi last night.

Oh...hi! Don’t mind me. Javy said you might be a little lonely today. She puckered her lips as if to say, poor baby.

    I rubbed my temples.

Hung over? Yeah, well, that’s why I’m here! She said chirpily and sat at the edge of my bed like a perfect nurse.

Now if I remember correctly, this was a bit of a blur...but she was the one incredibly drunk. Tessa.

Sort of sounds like Jess...but Jessa....she had explained to me while trying her best not to sound drunk.

    Right.

    Tessa, right?

Yes? Her big giant blue eyes widened in delight.

    What...time is it?

Oh, honey, I don’t even know that. Nothing works properly here. Come on, honey, let’s get this party started?

    Party?

While the gentlemen are away, the ladies play. Here, drink this.

My stomach flipped at the thought of more alcohol. I don’t know why, but I felt like I had just woken up after a New Years Eve party. I guess it was the mixture from drinking wine with dinner, to the champagne, to the liquor. The traveling.

She handed me a glass with fog drifting at the top, a bit like those shots last night that had those crazy mystical like powers.

I moaned and gave her that I don’t think so look.

Oh honey...drink this. You’ll be better in cinch. Promise. She said with the enthusiasm of a life coach, personal trainer, or someone who’s had five Red Bulls.

    Hell, why not.

The fog tickled my nose a bit as I took the first sip, the tart berry flavor immediately seeping into my tongue...my taste buds floating in delight.

    This was pretty darn good!

    Like really god.

I finished the drink in two more gulps and licked my lips, savoring the aftertaste. I was just about to say how much I liked the drink but suddenly I felt such a tingling floating sensation, a lifting, so to speak, and I felt like I just walked out of a two hour massage, loose, light, and felt refreshed as can be.

    What.Was.That?

Something top secret that we lucky ladies get to partake in since our men are like geniuses.

    Yeah...about that...

Come on!! We can talk on the yacht. The sun is calling our name.

She practically danced over to my closet and trailed her fingers over my wardrobe. Her fingers played with a turquoise see-through wrap.

    Wear this.

    Okay.

"And these bottoms. You don’t need to wear a
