About this ebook

How far would you go to save the people you love?

In a world not divided by race, creed or color, but by blood type, Blue Anders finds herself on the wrong end of fortune's mercy. Born with a lesser blood type, Blue is raised in The Way, a work camp for A-bloods.

Now Blue must fight against and alongside her violent brother to free their people and end the slavery forced upon her family by the blood drinkers. Standing up to her sociopath brother will be difficult, but admitting what she wants when she meets an intriguing man from the ruling class just might be impossible.

If you like dystopia romance, underdog tales, and a female heroine on a mission, this vampire trilogy is the page-turner for you.

"The Way" is book one in a dystopian trilogy, written by USA Today bestselling author Mary E. Twomey.

Start a new adventure, and read book one today.

This was a good read that was pretty entertaining. I wouldn't say I was yanked into the storyline like other reviewers or that I couldn't stop reading once I started, but I did enjoy it. I feel it was a little slow in some areas, but overall it was a unique read. Since this is a YA book and I am not a YA, some of it could've been lost on me. The writing is good and the storyline is intriguing. I just wish it was a little faster paced. On a side note, this is the first book in a series, so the storyline might pick up in the other books in the series.Full Disclosure: I received this e-book for free from a LibraryThings reader giveaway a few months back.

Honestly, I could not have liked this book less.I found nothing engaging about the characters. They were all very one dimensional. I had no idea what the big deal was with Blue, Baird. the Vemreaux or the Way and found I really didn't care. As the story progressed and the plot started to develop it was too little too late. Neither the plot nor the characters grabbed my attention quickly enough to make me give this story my full attention.I will not be continuing with any more of this series.

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.I found that I was unable to put this book down. I was reeled in from the first chapter and felt fulfilled by the time the last page came. I loved the characters - even though some I could personally smack. They were all well developed; as was the storyline. I look forward to the next installment and other works from this author.

The premise of this book is very interesting. I found this book to be intriguing and the plot itself was well laid out but I found the pace to be a bit draggy, making for a few struggles to continue to read. By the end of the book though the author did have my interest piqued enough to consider reading the next book in the series.Would rate this 3.5.

The premise is interesting enough to read the whole book; however, I was often distracted by the writing style. Characters' signature physical and personality features are repeated often and I think the author could have used a bit more "show, don' tell." The beginning was also choppy and hard to follow but once the story stopped jumping in time, it was a quick read. I'm also kind of over the female character with special talents who has no idea how special/beautiful she is plot line but if you need a fix after reading The Hunger Games, the Divergent series and the like, this might do the trick.

World War 3 results in a new world order - where people are segregated by blood type.. A, B, O.. (I kept wondering what happens to the ABs, like me :) ). The Vemreaux are the "master" class who feed off the Os and use the A's as slaves / servants. But one of the 'slave' class can save them all :) Interesting concept and really enjoyed book 1 - still debating whether or not to spend my $$ to buy book 2!

The background of this dystopian novel slowly unfolds through interactions of the very engaging characters. This is an excellent start to a series that is refreshingly different from many novels in this genre. I highly recommend it!

This book will suck you in and not let you go until you're done reading it. The premise is intriguing and I found it thought-provoking. A lot of times in movies and such we assume that if something like the Fountain of Youth was discovered the thing that would keep people from it would be lack of money and/or power. In this series however, what keeps people from the Fountain of Youth is not money or power but something they can't change: they're blood type. The portrayal of the Vemreaux is also convincing and well-done. They're the bad guys but rarely do people just go out and do terrible things cuz they feel like it, they always find a way to justify it to themselves (even if it's bull to everyone else). That's what the Vemreaux do and instead of just being faceless bad guys you get a feel for their humanity and conflicts with their current social order.Overall the book was a good read and I enjoyed it very much. I knocked one star off though because I found the constant bickering between Elle and Baird tedious and annoying and because the scenes with Blue and Sam were kinda cliche (and annoying as well). This book is definitely worth your attention.Note: I received a free copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow. This book surprised me. It's got a great storyline, some pretty interesting characters, and an emotional intensity that pulls the reader in. There's a lyrical darkness that accompanies the plot and some comforting but natural humor mixed in as well. I recommend this YA/NA novel to readers of dystopias, especially fans of the Wither series. I look forward to the next book in this series. LT Member Giveaway
