Croatia, Earth

Christmas, 1963

Tesla gazed at the mound of rocks in front of him thoughtfully for what seemed like forever, then he reached out tentatively and began rearranging the stones in a pattern that resembled wheels within wheels. He stopped a moment to examine the work and then placed a colorful rock he had found in a nearby stream in the center of his wheels, where they all intersected.

What’s a child doing playing with stones, when he should be counting stars with his young friends? came a stern, but kindly voice behind him.
