About this ebook
What if an inanimate object could speak? What do you think they would say? This is a book that has given some special objects a voice. They share their stories of love and loss. You may read about the old writing desk or the old abandon house who longs for children's laughter and lastly an insignificant penny which travels the world. It is a book about life through the eyes of an inanimate object.

I am a retired nurse who now enjoys writing and sharing stories. I am the mother of four grown children and the grandmother of four beautiful grandchildren with one on the way. I live in the great state of Texas and come from an all military family. I myself was in the Army years ago. I am so proud of our military and to have served. I have always loved to write but it has been many years since my pen has taken flight.I love to take an ordinary situation and turn it into a humorous piece. Many of the short articles have been taken from my own life. My family hides now when I say, "Oh I must write about that!" Where is their sense of humor? My poor husband falls victim most of the time. I also have found that after all these years I do still have an imagination, creating fictional stories that take the reader to places unknown. You may find me on Sunnies Pen to Page on Wordpress, where I introduce new writers and their work. My site, Graceful Intentions. I hope you will stop by and have look. My work is also found on Amazon, Yahoo Contributor, and Authors Den as well. Thank you for stopping by, Sunnie

The Black Boots
He slipped his feet into my cold, hard, leather. He laced me with much diligence. It took him a while, as he had never wore my type of boot before. I breathed a sigh of relief when the task was done. It would take many days until I was competent to award him comfort of any kind. This young man was 18 and I am certain held no idea where his feet were departing to tread. He wore me with assurance as he marched into a life he had never comprehended before. I can only hope he would recognize that I would try my best to stay intact and grant him the solid foundation he would expect to take him through combat.
It was not long before this young man and me, headed to distant, foreign lands. The miles of unknown desert took us through many hostile situations. I held up through the rain, sand, and mud. It was my honor to house the feet of this
