Always

Written in the second person point of view, 'Always' is a creepy, contemporary answer to Nikos Kavvadias' 'A Knife'. It is you who finds the cursed knife, but, unlike the protagonist in Kavvadias' poem, no one is there to warn you about taking it home. At only 1300 words, 'Always' is an easy read for the time-poor.

Kara Allen

Kara Allen is an emerging writer born and raised in Fremantle, Western Australia. She is a 2014 Creative Writing graduate of Edith Cowan University. Her fiction and poetry have appeared in Edith Cowan University’s Creative Arts Exhibition Catalogue (2013) and Graduate Show (2014), and Applecross Senior High School’s annual poetry magazine Primo Lux. Her short story, Unverletzt, placed third in the Talus Prize competition (2014).
