    I watched as Greg lined up the shot with a pitching wedge and chipped the ball onto the green. It landed on the smooth, flat grass and rolled towards the flag.

    Looks accurate, but I don’t think you’ve got quite enough on it, I said.

    I’m not so sure, Joey, Greg replied, watching the ball intently.

    It kept on trickling along on a direct course to the flag. Just when I was sure it was going to pull up inches short, the ball disappeared from sight as it dropped into the hole.
