    Prologue

The apocalypse had taken over in epic proportions. The dead were walking among the living, feeding from their flesh. It all started when the government ordered the chemical of mass destruction to be distributed across the world after war had been declared, leaving the world with shock waves of horror and fear. Fighting had erupted in the streets; riots had been wide spread as the panic of war continued.

The chemical weapon had been secretly planted on ships that were to cross the seas and make the secured delivery, but it had not remained a secret for long. The rebels who had turned hostile towards the government were fighting against the declaration of war had gained the intelligence from an inside source. Taking to the sea in an act of piracy, the rebels Set loose the deadly chemical, which seeped into the seabed and spread through the water system of many countries, leaving in its wake hoards of flesh eaters. Rapidly, like chicken pox, it spread red spots across the globe, replacing the human race with pale faced, flesh eating monsters that attacked with no regard for their loved ones or otherwise.

The soul survivors lived in high-rise apartment buildings, clearing out the flesh eaters and using the small resources they rummaged in other neighbouring apartments. Others lived in the many other residences available, rapidly using up the resources and living in fear.

The pirates found themselves plagued with the same flesh-eating chemical entering their systems, starting the epic proportions of it spreading. Their only way to escape the misery of eating the flesh from live victims was death. To die, the brain must be severed from the rest of the body, or put to inactivity permanently.

No one was safe. Neighbours were infected. Within days, every country across the globe had declared their infection. The government ran and went into hiding, and their disregard for anyone living was evident by their declaration of destroying the flesh eaters anyway necessary.

There was no cure, only death. The government designed a bomb filled to the rim with a new chemical that burnt and dissolved the flesh of anyone within miles, sending a light mist that rapidly spread for miles
