Extensive support is also provided for applicants to the variations of the Kellogg MBA, including the 1Y accelerated track, the MMM joint engineering degree, the part-time and Executive MBAs, and the JD/MBA. You'll learn about the current state of the school (is it slipping in the rankings?) and you'll get answers to the perennial question of “Is my GMAT score good enough?”
Find out what you can do to boost your chances for acceptance at this midwestern powerhouse of a bschool with a little help from EssaySnark.
Essay Snark
Essay Snark is an MBA admissions consultant who is sometimes amused and often appalled by what candidates write in their MBA essays to top bschools. Essay Snark shares others' mistakes, so you don't make admissions directors laugh or, worse, want to hurl when they read your essays. If you, intrepid applicant, want to have your essay reviewed by Essay Snark (and posted anonymously - yes everyone will see it), email it to gethelpnow(at)essaysnark(dot)com. Emailing your essay means you give explicit permission for it to be posted (obvious identifying information such as your name and the name of your employer will be removed), and you release Essay Snark from any claims that may result from possible humiliation over said snarkiness. A Few Facts
To kick things off, here's a collection of essential facts that may help you understand what Kellogg is about.
It's a student-driven culture. Students are the first readers of incoming applications at Kellogg. Students also do a lot of the on-campus interviews (alumni conduct the off-campus ones).
Kellogg interviews over 5,000 candidates every year, and these interviews serve two purposes: They let the school identify whether or not a candidate has Kellogg-quality traits in advance, and they keep the alumni engaged in the school community.
You should apply in Round 1 if you can. And, you should request your interview (by submitting Part 1 of the application) as early as possible. A full discussion of rounds and strategies is provided later in this Guide(see details in the Interviewing section).
The decision dates listed for each round on the Kellogg website are the final dates by which you absolutely will hear back from the school. However, the admissions team starts releasing decisions almost two months earlier than that – so, you could get a decision sometime in November for Round 1.
Kellogg does not accept the GRE for admission to any of its MBA programs. If you're applying to the JD/MBA, you can take just the GMAT and not worry about the LSAT.
Kellogg will not release decisions over the telephone based on confidentiality policies. That means that you cannot find out your decision by calling them. However, they likely will call you when they have accepted you. You can also find out your
