I get asked about my name a lot. It's not something exotic, though. “Kaje” is pronounced just like “cage” – it’s an old nickname, and my pronouns are she/her/hers.I was born in Montreal but I've lived for 30 years in Minnesota, where the two seasons are Snow-removal and Road-repair, where the mosquito is the state bird, and where winter can be breathtakingly beautiful. Minnesota’s a kind, quiet (if sometimes chilly) place and it’s home.I’ve been writing far longer than I care to admit (*whispers – forty years*), mostly for my own entertainment, usually M/M romance (with added mystery, fantasy, historical, SciFi...) I also have a few Young Adult stories (some released under the pen name Kira Harp.)My husband finally convinced me that after all the years of writing for fun, I really should submit something, somewhere. My first professionally published book, Life Lessons, came out from MLR Press in May 2011. I have a weakness for closeted cops with honest hearts, and teachers who speak their minds, and I had fun writing four novels and three freebie short stories in that series. I was delighted and encouraged by the reception Mac and Tony received.I now have a good-sized backlist in ebooks and print, both free and professionally published, including Amazon bestseller "The Rebuilding Year" and Rainbow Award Best Mystery-Thriller "Tracefinder: Contact." - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Beautiful short, to follow on from Life Lessons. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5and to all a good night by kaje harperThis book starts out with Mac and Tony and it's near Christmas and this year if Tony doesn't show up in FL at his moms for the holiday she will come find him.She knows nothing of his love for Mac. We learn of the cases at the homicide dept that Mac is handling. The cases and leads to solving them are discussed and things fall into place. They are able to talk every day but try to keep busy while apart from one another. What I really like about this book as this is not my genre is that the sex scenes are not explicit and are just mentioned-no details.Looked for more from this author but again it's not my genre but appreciate the style of writing and I enjoyed the book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A nice continuation tale form the first novel. Not a stand alone.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I haven't read the other books in the series yet, just picked this one up as a freebie. I enjoyed it. Both Mac and Tony are intriguing, and I will most likely go ahead and get the first one in the series so I can find out the story behind their relationship.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really enjoyed this glimpse into the not so distant future. Loved reading this little bit of their lives. You can feel the tension simmering below everything. Tony's thought of Mac getting injured in the line of duty and him not finding out until he saw it on the news hit me. Here's hoping they tackle that issue when we get to read more of them.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sweet but melancholy. This story feels like it was written to get fans to read the next book in the series. Which is fine. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. :)
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I haven't read the first book in this series, I picked this one up to see if I liked the author's voice. I would read this series, I think.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I highly suggest reading this after "Life Lessons" to see the continuation of the relationship although it's not required to understand the 2nd novel.
