About this ebook

It has been said that God is in the details. If that is true, perhaps the details of your everyday existence can be seen as messages from heaven that whisper you are loved, promise that God wants to provide for you, and speak to your heart about beauty, longing, and eternity. The Art of Abundance helps you find heavenly messages in the details of your life and savor every moment's blessings, great or small.

Author Candy Paull says, "The art of abundance is the art of awareness. It is a way to count our blessings and to practice mindfulness in our daily living. We learn to value the tastes, textures, scents, sounds, and sights of our lives as they present themselves to us moment by moment. By choosing to be aware of the gifts life brings, we become lovers instead of critics, believers instead of doubters, and childlike mystics instead of world-weary cynics."

The Art of Abundance can help you uncover the treasures in your own life--and discover the joy of celebrating and creating abundance in the here and now.

Key Word: Gratitude
Key Concept: Divine awareness
Cosmic Question: Is the Universe friendly?
- You are surrounded by abundance here and now.
- By counting our blessings, we discover how rich we are in the things that count.

The art of abundance is not about greed or selfishness. The art of abundance is about celebrating life right now, this minute. It is a way of looking at the potential your life holds--the little blessings to be thankful for now and the gifts that God wants to give you, if you'll just open your heart to receive. It's about being enthusiastic about life every day, not just on the rare occasions when everything seems to be going your way. The art of abundance is finding the provision in what is right in front of you, seeing the hand of God already giving you what you need, moment by moment. Then sharing the abundant blessings God has given with others. And completing the circle of giving by praising the One who gave the gifts for us to enjoy.

Candy Paull’s writing is the readable equivalent of Earl Grey tea, steeped in a pot, and served in your grandmother's china. That is: it warms you through and through.
Victoria Moran, bestselling author of Creating a Charmed Life

Author Candy Paull gently helps you to shift your focus so you can once again enjoy the true abundance of the heart. The books in the Artful Living series are full of inspirational quotations and thought-provoking insights to help you through harried days and turbulent times. The Art of Abundance calls attention to the little blessings for which we can be thankful. The Art of Encouragement helps busy people cultivate creativity and self-confidence in themselves and others. And The Art of Simplicity opens the way to the center of the heart wherein lies the wisdom that nurtures body, mind, and spirit.

The Art of Abundance - Candy Paull

    INTRODUCTION

The art of abundance is the art of awareness. It is a way to count our blessings and practice mindfulness in our daily living. Becoming aware of the small, the little, and the least offers us an opportunity to open our hearts to a larger perspective. We learn to value the tastes, textures, scents, sounds, and sights of our lives as they present themselves to us moment by moment.

Children practice the art of abundance naturally, but often as adults we lose the ability to explore and experience wonder. By choosing to be aware of the gifts life brings, we become lovers instead of critics, believers instead of doubters, and childlike mystics instead of world-weary cynics.

Practicing the art of abundance has been a transforming process in my life. My spirit has been renewed and my heart refreshed whenever I have chosen to thank the great Creator for the blessings that come my way. It is my prayer that this little book will enable you to affirm the goodness of creation and discover how rich you are in the things that count.

    Overcoming Fears

I first started consciously practicing the art of abundance a few years ago. My parents had always shared their delight in small things—the view from the front window, the comings and goings of birds and wildlife, the pleasure of flowers on the table and well-cooked food, the joy of reading—but it wasn't until I became an adult that I realized how rich their lives have always been in celebrating the small abundances of life.

Abundance is…a rich red oriental rug.

Abundance is…a vase full of roses from the garden.

Abundance is…watching the seasons change outside your window.

As a freelance writer, I've had times of plenty—but I've had a lot more times of doing without, making do, or just plain being frustrated by a short financial leash. And many times of being scared, because I didn't know how my bills were going to get paid. It seemed I could barely manage the basics, let alone the extras.

But when I learned to live the abundant life, I began to feel rich in spite of fluctuating finances. And I firmly believe that most of the improvements
