Libra–Sign of the Scales

Libras are diplomatic and charming, romantic and sociable, easygoing and peace loving. They are also very set in their ways, yet at times can be changeable, very gullible and very easily influenced. Yet, at the same time can be very flirtatious and self-indulgent. Libras are lovers of beauty, harmony and the finer things in life. They don’t tolerate arguments from anyone who wants to challenge their opinion. They hate conflict of any kind and loathe vulgarity. They have an insatiable curiosity. But they don’t like getting their hands dirty doing grunt work.

Chapter One

Taylor dropped the newspaper on the coffee table and let out a load groan. Just what she needed to read today. Her birthday horoscope and it had to be a doozy. But never in a million years did she expect one like this.

Sweet Libra girl, this is your day, month and year. A new romance could pop up at any moment. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. Grab the brass ring and hold on for the wild ride.

Sure and pigs could fly, she thought. Just like Mr. Right was going to ride in on a white stallion and steal me away. Away from all this glamour that I’m surrounded by. More to the point, it would probably be Mr. Right Now as opposed to Mr. Right Forever and Ever. Wasn’t that just how my luck had run lately? Or more to the point, her string of no luck. Either way, the words in the newspaper were just that, words. Black ink typeset on white paper. Nothing more, nothing less.

Taylor looked down at the stack of glossy tabloid magazines on the table and sighed. Every article said the same thing, no variation at all. Tall, dark and handsome. Loaded with money, charm and charisma. Just being seen with the man would up your worth at least eighty percent. Yet, never a bad word uttered about him.

Zip, zilch, nada. What amazed Taylor even more was the good coverage he received from them. Even the business magazines were flattering. Normally someone someplace would happily point out a flaw, then expound on it. But not in any of these pieces.

And she was the lucky photographer to get the job of shooting the multi-millionaire magnate for this particular piece.

Just looking at Richard Rossman, Rick to his friends the article quoted him as saying, you could tell he was a bad boy right to the core. That devastatingly sexy grin did nothing to detract from his outrageously good looks, nor the fact that any woman on the face of the earth who didn’t fall at his feet and worship the ground he walked on had to be blind.

But behind it all, Taylor knew there had to be something. Something that drove him forward, pushed him to the limits between work and play and something that no one else knew anything about. And that something was exactly what Taylor intended to capture with her camera.

To show a side of the man no one had seen before.

Not in a bad way but in a good way. Something that made him more accessible to everyone. More human, more reachable. Maybe a closet addiction to rocky road ice cream or hooked on Desperate Housewives or even a Dog the Bounty Hunter TV junkie, something along those lines.

Closing her eyes, Taylor fingered the gold pendant on her brand new necklace. The sign of the scales. Libra, her zodiac sign. If there was one thing Taylor was, it was curious. And right now, her curiosity honed in on Rick Rossman. Even with her eyes shut, the image
