I punched the elevator's ground level button and leaned up against the thinly covered metal wall. My hand gently massaged my temples – it had been a long night. I was an RN and worked the weekend night-shift in the telemetry unit of Ashland Medical Center in beautiful Ashland Oregon. It had not been a terrible night, but it was thinking about the next two nights that wore me out. The first night was always the worst.

As the doors slowly closed, a hand shot through the crack, halting their progress. The doors opened back up and in stepped my friend, Matt Holcomb. He was an agency nurse that worked in ICU.

Hey. My lips involuntarily curled up at their corners. Seeing him was like putting on a pair of old, comfy socks.

Glad I caught ya, he said with a smile as he towered over me. It had taken me a while to get used to his stature. I wasn't short by any means, at a respectable five-eight. Matt was just that much more imposing. Standing at six-foot-six, he was what I pictured a Swedish Viking to be: blond, muscular and good-looking.

I met Matt a couple years ago, when he started working agency shifts on my unit to make up for the hospital being short-staffed. We hit it off right away, but we never became anything more than friends and bed-buddies. Being a larger girl, at a size sixteen, I was more than happy for the friendship and sex. I'd always been a bit reserved and self-conscious about my size, but over the years, Matt helped me overcome that. I owed him a lot for making me realize how beautiful and sexy I was as a thick, curvy woman.

Thank God that's over, Matt said as he yawned. Unless they ask me to come in tonight.

Wow, you'll be rolling in it this week if they do. Haven't you already worked like five shifts already?

He nodded. Just more money in savings for CRNA school. I'd rather not take out a jumbo student loan for that.

Yeah, that would be a huge loan, seeing they don't allow you to work while in school. I'd give him one thing, he was a determined and motivated person. I didn't know too
