About this ebook
The Maglev Bible Study is a gay friendly discussion style Bible study for the gay believer about homosexuality. Who say’s the Bible teaches against homosexuality? Where? What about Jesus’ promise to the gay believer? So let’s take a good look at what the Bible really says to and about the gay believer. What you learn in this book is much different than what you were told.
We will look at the Scriptures people people use against the gay and lesbian believer and why this use of the Scripture is wrong and why it will actually back-fire on them, according to the Scriptures!
We will look at Scripture which clearly speaks to or about the gay believer. We will look at Jesus’ powerful and timely promise to the gay and lesbian believer.
This is a must read for any Chriatian who has been touched by homosexuality or who is concerned about the issue. Former Christian people who have had Jesus bullied away from them should also read this book.
David Bush
I, David Bush, would like to take the time to thank you for your interest in my books. I have not been an author for long, but I do have a desire to help people and to share my experience and interests with people.I know some of you are wondering who I am, so I will write a little something about myself.I was raised in a small town in Pennsylvania by fine Christian parents. I accepted Jesus as my savior at a young age and was raised in a Methodist Church. I have stayed true to Jesus to this day.In 1977, a good friend invited me to a Christian convention in New Wilmington, PA where I had a powerful, life-changing experience that has helped me immensely! An experience some people call the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That was wonderful and this experience still has an effect on my life all these years later. The Holy Spirit helped me work through many issues in my my life including an inability to feel secure in my faith and with the difficult time I had being comfortable in Jesus as a gay Christian. As for my sexual orientation I knew I was gay from a very young age, although I didn't know exactly what it was back then. I knew, however, I liked other men.I did date girls at one time and I loved them as good friends and I enjoyed their company, but I did not love them as a man is expected to love a woman. I did end up marrying a woman who I loved as a friend, but who I could not love as a wife. How or why that happened, I don't fully understand. But I do know it happens to a lot of gay people. Needless to say, this marriage didn't last. It couldn't because I couldn't fulfill my marital duties to her.Even so, I stayed "in the closet" for years for many reasons. I did not even want to admit my sexual orientation, even to myself, although a few people knew I was gay. A lot of other people thought they knew I was gay', but they didn't know it officially. Their intrusive presumptions bothered me and made me angry!I didn't know how people would react to my "coming out" in spite of many rumors to that effect. I wasn't sure I wanted to "come out" because emotionally I wasn't ready, because I didn't know how this would hurt my witness for Jesus and because I didn't want to hurt my family.I believe my parents always knew I was gay, but they didn't want to know it. I guess I respected that, and we all were more comfortable with this arrangement. Never the less, both of my parents did welcome Doug into the family before they died. This was a beautiful thing to have happen.I met my wonderful, loving partner, Doug, who worked in a restaurant I used to frequent. We became good friends and on March, 21, 2005, we gave our hearts to each other and he has been my one and only spouse ever since. We've been very happy ever since. Wow! What a first day of spring! In addition to being a gay man who loves Jesus and who has a wonderful spouse, I have a few interests which have captivated me on and off throughout my entire life. But as all of these things cycled in and out of my head and my heart, a few prominent interests seem to keep me captivated very consistently. The top of the list has to be trains. I have loved trains my whole life. I love watching them, riding them, listening to them and I loved the beauty, nostalgia and the prestige that surrounded them. I love the exhaustive history, technology and engineering which goes into trains, track and the mechanical and electrical systems found on the rails. I guess it was always in my blood and everybody knew it! I was widely known as an avid rail fan and there were just no two ways about it!I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work for three different railroads, and on two of them, I was a locomotive engineer, a freight and passenger conductor and a signal maintainer.I also want to share with you that I was a long-haul truck driver for a few years. I loved the job most of the time, although the road got pretty long sometimes, but for me, anyway, the big trucks did not have the same glory and splendor a train has.I am also interested in electricity and alternative energy. Even as a kid, I used to design wind mills and low-voltage lighting systems in my head, which were suitable for a tree house or a camp. I still enjoy doing this, but now the systems I design could be used in a house or a small business. In fact, the last few power outages we have had, we still had a few lights when our neighbors had none. These systems won't power the whole city, but it does give us some help when we need it. Help in the form of electricity. That is pretty cool!Thank you once again for taking the time to look at my books (Just one now, but I do have plans to write more). I also want to thank you for taking the time to read my bio.I hope you are enjoying your reading experience and find these words interesting and inspiring. Best regards to you always.David Bush

QUALIFICATION
Here I am, nobody special, writing what is almost certainly going to be a very controversial, Christian faith based book. It is based upon what the Bible actually says, which is different than what many people say the Bible says about homosexuality.
This book could change the hearts and minds of many Christian people, both straight and gay! All though it’s NOT my intention, this book is sure to stir up a mighty nest of hornets on both sides of the argument!
Why would I write a book like this? What qualifies me to write a book like this?
Let’s start with why.
I am writing this book for the benefit of both the straight and the gay Christian. Some gay Christian people are insecure about their relationship to Jesus and sometimes they worry about whether or not they can even make it into Heaven because they are gay.
Other times the gay believer is attacked by family, society and even other believers. It's time to tell it the way it is rather than to let this go on.
It is also time to warn our accusers of what Jesus said would happen if the accusers insist on keeping their damaging practice. It's time to look at how this damage works.
According to the Scriptures, the gay Christian has nothing to worry about as long as they remain faithful to Jesus. We will look at these Scriptures in this book. This book gives, what I believe is a solid basis for my saying this. I think, in the end, most unbiased people will have to agree.
There are also many, well established Christian people
who feel secure in their faith, whom other people believe in and trust as leaders of their churches. But even these secure
Christian people who are trusted by many, who feel strong in their faith could be in deep trouble with Jesus if they accuse other believers, tell Jesus’ loved ones they are an abomination on to God
or throw other believers whom Jesus loves out of homes and churches!
This is clearly written in the Bible, yet nobody seems to see it. All they can see are two verses in the book of Leviticus which they take out of context they believe they can use to clobber their [gay] brothers and sisters over the head with in spite of Jesus’ crystal clear warnings against this practice!
They say, it is written in stone,
homosexual people cannot be Christian people,
yet there are many faithful followers of Jesus; brothers and sisters in Christ who are gay, who sometimes fear for their own salvation because of what they are being told by other believers and because of what they are wrongly told the Bible says about homosexuality.
They suffer in the churches. They suffer is their own families, in their own societies and in their own work places. It is not unusual for the gay brothers and sisters to suffer terrible injustices, often because of their own brothers and sisters in Christ or because of their own immediate families.
The gay Christian community fires back saying Jesus loves us
(and He does), and the Bible doesn’t say that
(and it doesn’t), but nobody seems to be able to say exactly how or why the Bible isn’t against the gay believer.
But that is about to change! This book will give the gay believer what they have been looking for that they didn’t quite think even existed. God has heard your prayers and your answer is here, in this book.
These [desperate, shot in the dark] arguments gay Christians use, usually hit the bale of hay the target is on, but they not only miss the bull’s eye
, they often miss the whole paper.
On the other hand, our accusers somehow manage to miss the whole bale of hay, but they manage to hit a series of trees, walls and ricochets in just such a way, that have the arrow coming straight back at them selves and they don’t even see it until they come face to face with Jesus and discover it’s too late to enter the Kingdom of Heaven! What a nasty, unthinkable trick of the devil!
Like it or not, we all have skin in the game of eternity, although many of us don’t like to think about it. But we should think about it, and we should think about it on a solid basis. not in a shallow way that won’t hold up in an argument or that cannot protect us when we stand before our Savior.
This book will give you the tools you need to understand the gay believer does fit into God’s plan and has a home in Heaven waiting for us. There is no mistake! It’s right in the Bible slapping us in the face, but somehow many of us don’t seem to see it!
Know what you believe and why! Put your faith in Jesus and understand what His Word has to tell us. Don't take these words out of context nor from a shallow understanding just to protect our own fragile wrong beliefs that we might even know are faulty!
Ladies and gentlemen, like everyone else, I have skin in this game too! I used to worry about my relationship with Jesus because I am gay and because I am a Christian. Before I came to understand these truths, I was pretty off-balance trying to understand God’s plan for me. I was pretty worried in those days! Really worried!
Knowing this, I was stunned and in shock when our high school news paper reported: Scientists predict the world will end in:about;1, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 ,000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 ,000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000, 000 ,000, 000, 000 years!
This may be a LOT of years, but it is hardly even the beginning of eternity!
Even so. I believe many people who are alive today will see the coming of Jesus and will see the end of the world as we know it (and hopefully the beginning of the next).
I couldn’t bear the thought I would be in hell that soon! Because I am gay, I knew I couldn’t possibly go to Heaven, but I remained faithful to Him hoping He would have mercy on my soul. I fought for Him, hoping more people would make it into Heaven, whether or not I did.
Whether I was going to Heaven or to hell, I was going to be faithful to Jesus and that was that! It still is vitally important to me and all the more now that I know His promise to me and all gay believers who stay faithful to Him!
Rarely does anybody ever live to be 100. Now that I am in my 50’s, my health is beginning fail and I might not even be here in too many more years. Nothing that serious, I’m just getting older. Who is to say how much time any of us have.
I don’t think I’ll be here long anyway, not because I am falling apart, nor because I ever had, in the back of my mind, somehow I could live for hundreds of years, but because I believe the rapture will happen before this! According to the Scriptures, the rapture is extremely likely to happen very soon, probably even in our life-time!
I hope to be alive when Jesus comes, and I almost expect to be (as much as anybody can). But even if I were to die ahead of the rapture, you can bet your last dollar, I’ll be alive again after the rapture! Jesus is my Lord and He is the author of Life! He is the one who gives life!
Why the change from worrying about going to hell to becoming excited about the rapture? The difference is, what I have learned from the Holy Spirit!
Although I was raised in a conservative Methodist church, in 1977, just out of high school, I had an experience many people call, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
I went from being an insecure Christian to going to the moon!
I have never been the same person since!
I saw, knew and experienced things that weekend in New Wilmington, PA, in 1977 that I have never ever heard of before! Things that may even scare
some Christian people, make others nervous and make those who experience this mind-blowing, life-changing power have a tremendous sense of peace and gives this child of God a tremendous power deep with-in that is there when it is needed most!
That was the first time I have ever seen the power of God at work on such a personal level [and knew what it was], but it certainly wasn’t the last time!
After this experience, I could feel Jesus with me in a more tangible way. There were more times I could even hear
what He was saying to me!
Knowing fact from fiction, regarding our faith, suddenly became easier for me to know and I could suddenly be more secure in the Christian faith even though I was gay! Though there was a time I felt my sexual orientation had powered down my new-found relationship with the Holy Spirit for many years.
I was wrong! This was nothing more than an attack of the devil, and it wasn’t the last attack I would have to face after this. In fact there are many!
The devil even tried to kill me back in the 1980’s. I was driving a tractor-trailer and I had reached my destination. There was a terrible thunder storm going on, but I still opened my trailer doors and backed into my destination. There was a little roof that would help protect my cargo from the rain, and everything would be fine.
I crawled up into my sleeper and was listening to the rain pounding on the truck. It was beautiful and lolling me to sleep. Suddenly I woke up in agony! I couldn’t see and I couldn’t move! I knew this was the end, unless I could call out to Jesus, which I managed to somehow do!
There was a terrible roar that sounded like a great water-fall or a mighty wind! It was louder than a thousand jet planes with my head right in the engine’s exhaust stream! I never saw such darkness in my life! I could also hear sirens in the distance. The pain was beyond description!
Even if I could get my mouth to move to say the name of Jesus,
how could He hear me with all of that noise and with my being in such an incredibly weak (paralyzed) state? But I managed and He heard me, weak as I (and my voice) were! Thank you Jesus, with all of my heart!
I was [back in my body] and the intense, unthinkable pain began to fade and the next day, I was fine. I got a signature on my paperwork for my delivery and it was on to my next stop.
So what happened? It was almost certainly lightening. My dear friend and sister in the Lord whom I have shared this story with believes I was actually dead at that point. I cannot confirm or deny that, but if I was dead, I must have been in Outer Darkness
(a superb of hell)!
How would a faithful follower of Jesus ever end up in hell? I wondered that for eons! Was it because I was gay? Did I have some sin I wasn’t forgiven for? Was I unfaithful to Jesus? Was there someone I didn’t forgive whom I should have forgiven? I could see no reason and I wondered and worried about it for years until I was finally given the answer.
Jesus didn’t leave my soul in hell!
He rescued me! He saved me from this horrible torment! The devil would like nothing more than to destroy me and drag me off to hell because Jesus has a special work for me to do in the end time. The devil tried, but Jesus is so much greater than any power earth has ever seen!
Perhaps writing this book and possibly another similar book later on is part of His plan for me!
Ladies and gentlemen, there are insecure Christian people who really need to know Jesus loves them. Not all of these Christian people are gay, but some are! Many gay Christians are insecure about their faith and their eternal destination.
They worry about what they will be able to say to Jesus when they stand before Him on judgment day or at the end of their lives! How can they possible justify the sinful lives they have lived!
Not to worry! Our sins are no worse than anybody else’s sins. Our sins, are, in fact, under Jesus’ Blood, just like the sins of other people who are saved. If Jesus is our lawyer, our protector, our Lord and Savior, and our most dear friend, then, what, in all of creation, do we have to worry about! Jesus has already paid it all and we who are His are all good!
On the flip side of the coin, there are those Christian
people who are [falsely] secure in their faith, who many people tend to believe in and trust. They have read the Bible and have declared gay people are an abomination onto God and they are going to hell!
A colorful lie many of us tend to [wrongly] believe! (I will speak almost exactly Jesus’ own words regarding this).
There is nothing wrong with having an opinion. There is nothing wrong with sticking to what you believe. We should all act according to what we believe and what we believe should be based upon something solid, like the Bible; the Word of God.
But there is something wrong with telling another follower of Jesus, they are an abomination onto God! There is something wrong with telling another follower of Jesus, they are going to hell! There is something wrong with trying to slam Heaven’s door in the face of another believer!
Jesus will not tolerate this! Either you are a child of His who does His Word, or you are an accuser [of the brethren]! An accuser who Jesus does not claim as His own! In other words, there are people who believe they arehealthy and secure
Christian people, doing what they believe in, who are going to hell because of what they do [to other believers]!
This is obviously a huge problem in Heaven and on earth! But it demonstrates to us, exactly how the devil works; making people feel so warm and fuzzy and all is well
as they go on their way to Heaven except they are going to hell and they don’t even know it!
In this book, we will look at the Scriptures our critics use and we will see what these words are really saying. We will look at Jesus’ Words and see what He has to say to and about the gay believer. Oh yes! Jesus did address the gay believer and on more than one occasion!
What we will learn is sure to be a bone jarring shock for some people and a massively freeing experience for others!
I have skin in this game too. I want to know the truth! I don’t want anybody to tickle my ears. I want to know the truth as it actually is. I do not want false security! I would assume you are looking for the same so I intend to tell it like it is,
to the best of my ability.
As a gay Christian, I do have an interest in knowing what my future with Jesus is (if I have one) as a gay Christian. What anybody has to say based upon shallow doctrine, false information, he say’s - she say’s,
Simon say’s
or tag, your it
doesn't interest me. It shouldn’t worry me, nor should it bother you.
It’s massively important that we look past all of the worry people dump upon us (or that we dump on each other) and see this incredible truth Jesus has to give to us!
I want to know the truth and I want you to know the truth! I will not tickle your ear just to give you a false sense of security. I will, tell it like it is,
as they used to say!
Before this experience I have had in the Holy Spirit, I worried day and night like there was no tomorrow because I was gay. I took this all very seriously! And I still do.
I am not the type of person who would ever seriously consider suicide, but this worry made me almost crazy enough to understand how some people might think about it!
But why would anybody hurry to get to an unthinkable destination which has no escape! Wouldn’t a person try to enjoy the next 50, 60 or 70 years, if they could, before it was time to crash and burn [in more ways than one]?
Well, I made sure I lived my life for Jesus! I tried to understand what Jesus was saying to me and I have always stayed true to Him, never daring to consider any other way [in spite of some really hard times and tough knocks]. If I had one chance in a million to get to Heaven, I surely wasn’t going to blow it on anything stupid!
Then the Jesus I have stayed true to sent the Comforter to me, [who was desperately needed], who has taught me many things and who has shown me things from the Scriptures I needed to know. He did not leave my soul in hell, but He gave me the truth I needed so badly. I pass this truth on to you in this book and in the one that is yet to come.
What is written here is exactly what I believe is the truth. If I didn’t believe what I am saying in this book is true and right, I certainly would never dare tell you something that was wrong, much less something as important as this matter we are discussing!
And for this reason, I keep placing my trust in Jesus (not my critics). Placing our trust is Jesus is what we are supposed to do! Never mind what our critics say!
When we do that, there is no more worry for the gay Christian who loves and obeys Jesus! This former worry is irrelevant to us now!
On the other hand, our accusers have plenty to worry about and we should all be in prayer that they might know the truth and be able to avoid the lies of the devil and the fires of hell, which lay claim to these dear brothers and sisters in Christ! (Matthew 24: 45 - 51 - Revelation 3: 7 - 13).
So these are the reasons I am writing such a book as this one. I also believe, in the course of this discussion, I have also answered what qualifies me to write this book; I am a child of God who has been given a message for other believers, which they need to hear! As we are about to see, these Words are from Jesus Himself.
Ladies and gentlemen, if we don’t judge others, we won't be judged! If we forgive others, we will be forgiven. If we show kindness and mercy to others, we will be shown kindness and mercy! Where does any of this depend on our sexual orientation? I just don’t see that anywhere.
Our own brothers and sisters might judge us, but Jesus doesn’t judge us! He loves us and has made an incredible (and relevant) promise to us! A promise we read and then look behind us because this promise can’t be for us. No! There is nobody behind you! Jesus is talking to you my dear gay brothers and sisters in Christ!
Jesus made the gay brothers and sisters in Him a tremendous promise that is for you! So stop thinking it is for someone else and accept it as yours! Jesus gave it to you, not the [invisible] person behind you who isn’t there!
We will look at this promise Jesus made to US in this book! So please stay with me to the last page or skip ahead through all of this and get right to the study (Chapter 5) if you like.
If this book helps you, you can bet it will help someone else too. I would be most grateful if you recommend this book to someone else who needs to know what is written here. Thank you from myself and from the one you help. God bless you my dear ones.

CHAPTER 2
SOON TO COME
In various cultures in the past, and in even in the present, gay people had a really rough time. In some societies, a person could (or still can) be executed in many places.
Yet even in various cultures where homosexuality is illegal, societies have promoted premarital homosexual relations ships.
The way various societies handle homosexuality, including our own society can be diverse and even confusing. Society even comes up with certain unwritten rules which define which gay people are straight and which straight people are gay. These strange rules can make homosexuality a weapon rather than a sexual orientation.
Our society, thankfully, is in the process of changing, but we have a long way to go yet.
