The Oak of Wisdom - Elizabeth Gautier

    The Oak of Wisdom

    By:  Liz Gautier

    Dedicated to children of faith

    Who understand and listen within,

    for their own creative wisdom

    of love.

    Chapter 1

A child stumbled upon a secret place for only children.  As the child, Andrew, came near to the place he heard a voice.

Child where have you been, we've been waiting for you?

Who said that? exclaimed Andrew in surprise.

    Me, spoke up the other.

    Who are you?

    The Oak tree.

    Trees can't talk!

Am I talking to you now? asked the wise old Oak tree.

    Yes

Then trees can talk, if you listen.

Oh!  Well which tree did you say you are?

The Oak. I am a very old tree Oak much older than you.

    How old are you?

Old enough to know you need a friend.  Would you like to meet my friends?

    You have friends?

Oh yes, the Pine, the Dogwood, the Spruce and their seedlings.  Can I tell you a story?

Oh please, tell me a story.  I love stories! exclaimed Andrew. Delighted to hear the old Oak had a story to tell.

A girl came her, once upon a time ago. A very special child of nature and God.  This child was  troubled like you.

    "What was her name?

Jane, she felt lost.  She didn't understand much of what her life was about and needed help to find her way home.

A special child of faith and love she was indeed.
