About this ebook
When Merlin and John got back to Merlins quarters he turned around and said. ‘I must tell you young John that the journey you have undertaking is a very perilous one and if you said that you wish not to go then I for one would not hold it against you.’
‘Well Merlin if I stay here all I will be doing would be for me to wait for the mist to come and destroy me, so I might as well die trying to stop the mist no Merlin I will go within the hour.’
‘Well John Rudd there’s things that I have to tell you about so sit yee down and I will begin.’
Then Merlin went to his private cupboard that stood in the corner of the room he picked up a very old looking book and brought it to the table and then sat down and opened the book. He read the book for about ten minutes then said. ‘Now John you must lend me your ears for a while do not ask questions until I am finished, now when you get to the caves of the undead and if you do get the herbs you still have a very long way to go and a lot of dangers it’s not going to be an easy journey John, when you get to the caves you will come up against the Skeletons’ of the dead, and John you will have to destroy all of them before you can get the herbs, if you get the herbs you then must travel to the next part of your journey but John here is my Orb.
You know how to connect with me just rub the Orb three times and ask for Merlin and then I will tell you that its the Mountain Of The Winds there you will meet Igosha the wind wizard when you come face to face with Igosha you must watch his eyes because he will try to hypnotize you then once you are under his spell he will cut your throat.
Now while you are fighting your way to get the herbs I will be looking up on the next parts of your journey, now John have you got any questions.’
‘No sire well maybe just one and that is I can’t carry enough food for a long journey so how can I survive.’
‘Ah yes John I have thought of that after the Mountain of the winds and you are still alive then I will tell you were you can get food I will tell you where to get food as you travel on your journey, now I have instructed the kitchens to make up a bag of food and drink that will last you for three days that should be enough time defeat the Skeletons’ and the wind, you know where the caves of the dead are don’t you John.’
Then came the time for John to go on his journey Merlin was waiting outside of John’s room and when he saw John come out he said. ‘John I have a written message here from the King and it say

Chapter 1
KING ARTHUR
It is July in the Kingdom of Camelot and King Arthur is sitting in his day chambers eating his midday meal.
When a guard opened the door and came into the room and bowed his head and said. ‘Your majesty there is a man on horseback has come from the Kingdom of Northumberland and he said he has come from the King of Northumberland King Garafena and he said he must speak to you at once it is a matter of life and death.’
‘Well man show him in it must be important for him to bring me a message from so far away a land.’
The guard shouted. ‘Bring the messenger in.’
When the man came into the room he went down on one knee and bowed at the same time.
King Arthur said. ‘Arise sir and give me the news.’
‘Yes sire but the news I bring is grave indeed, my king has told me to let you know of the deadly mist that is killing every thing in its path it has already covered most of Northumbria and he fears it will engulf his land before the month is out, he also said that the wizard behind this evil mist is your deadly enemy Morpheus, and my King said that he wishes you all the very best of luck in trying to defeat Morpheus, and that is the news sire.’
Then the King said. ‘Guard give this man food and drink then give him a bed to lie upon.’
The messenger said. ‘Thank you sire for the food but as to the bed well I want to leave for home as soon as I can my King is in danger.’
Arthur said. ‘Well my good man tell your King that he is welcome to come to Camelot until we sort this out is that clear.’
‘Yes sire very clear and thank you.’
The King then said to the guard when you are finished arranging food for this man bring Merlin to me.’
The guard said. ‘Yes sire at once.’
Then when Merlin came John Rudd was with him and when Merlin bowed to the King he said. ‘Do you want Rudd to leave the room sire?’
‘No Merlin come in and take a seat you stand where you are Rudd.’
Then Arthur said. ‘Its very grave Merlin, I have just a messenger from the far land of Northumbria, and King Garafena sends us a tail of danger that my kingdom has never seen before, he tells of a strange mist which is coming from the castle of Morpheus my sworn enemy, he went on to say that the mist travels very slowly but when it touches a living thing it dies at once, now Merlin have you ever heard of such a mist before.’
‘Yes sire but I have only heard of it through my teacher of fifty years ago and he told me of a mist such as this and he said it can only be stopped by a rare herb called The Essences Of The Meridian Flower which I would have to look up in my books to locate where in can be found, but my teacher did tell me what should be done with the herb, it should be cast at the base where the mist originates from then the mist will stop.’
The King said. ‘Then make haste Merlin and read your books of wonder and then come back to me no matter what time it is even in the middle of the night.’
‘Aye sire I am on my way, come Rudd we must hurry.’
They went down to Merlin’s quarters and he wet straight to his books and it took him two hours to find the
