Merlin & The Pendragons - Chris A Moody

    The Class Room

W elcome class, to make sure you are all in the right place, this is The History of Time Travel. I am your instructor Gregory Stevenson. Can anyone tell me when Time Travel was first invented?

    A dozen hands went up.

Good I like this, lots of hands, who should I pick on first? You in the third row with the purple hair. Please let us know who you are, and what your answer is.

My name is Iris Shelley, time travel started in 2521 when Professor Theodore Blake broke the fourth dimensional wall, she said trying to pull a curl straight.

Thank you, Iris, how many of you agree with her? Is that when time travel started? And no this isn’t a trick question in that we are all traveling through time just a second at a time.

    Many hands were raised now.

Are you sure? he asked. Some people decided they were not sure and lowered their hands.

Much like for centuries Christopher Columbus was credited for finding the ‘new world’ it was at first believed that time travel was originally discovered in 2521, however in 2555 with the creation of the Vortex Map, we found evidence that showed travel was occurred before 2521.

Gregory tapped a button on his remote, an image of a man displayed on the holographic projector in the center of the room. This is Merlin Blake, he invented what he called a ‘Time Vortex Manipulator’. He was born in 2083 and died in 522. We were unable to find any serious ripples caused by him, and for centuries he was considered merely a myth or a legend, they broadened the truth by quite a bit, as myths normally do. As he didn’t wish to resume life back in his time, the Time Court decided to allow him to finish out his life in the deep past.

Being a good scientist, he did record his information before he left on his first and second trips, let's go ahead and watch that on the holoprojector now.

The classroom went dark and the holoprojector came to life with a digital recording.

    Back To Far

T oday is Sunday August 14, 2118. My name is Merlin Blake and I just finished my Time Vortex Manipulator. Tomorrow I’m planning the executing the first test. Unlike the previous fiction from H. G. Wells my machine is not confined to one location geographically. I can go anywhere on the planet. With a bit more work on the math I could likely visit almost anywhere in the solar system, however without additional preparation I’d die due to lack of oxygen.

    His phone rang. Yes?

Hi Merlin, it's Nutty, replied the lady on the phone.

Oh, hello Nutty, how is everything going?

It’s, going quite well, just calling to let you know the costumes you wanted will be ready in about a day.

That’s great Nutty, I can’t wait to see them.

Great, can you pick them up at around 2 pm tomorrow?

That works out perfectly I’ll see you then, he disconnected the call. In front of him was a checklist of items he needed for this first planned excursion. Next, to clothing, he
