I want to thank God for giving me the creativity and the courage to start writing, and for all of his blessings and favor.

To my wonderful and always supportive husband, who has always had my back and encouraged me. Thanks for all that you do.

A very special thanks goes out to my son, for understanding all of the times that I could not play board games or the Xbox with you because I was busy writing.

I also want to thank all of my family and friends who supported me with my first book "Make Sure Your Love Is Bigger Than Your Wedding!" I appreciate you all more than you will ever know.

    Chapter 1

Tammy stares out at the view from her bedroom window.

Now this is what everyone should wake up to every morning.

She looks down on one of the best views in the affluent Buckhead area, out of the window of her new condo located on the 15th floor of one of the newest high rises. She paid a steep price for it but to her it was well worth it.

Heading into her massive closet she shuffles through her impressive collection of designer clothes, and selects one of her top of the line dresses and overpriced shoes for the day.

The alarm on her phone reminds her of her weekly hair and nail appointment that is set for every Tuesday.

I have got to make it to my hair appointment today.

Carefully she applies her makeup that has been specially crafted to blend in with her beautiful mocha skin tone. Once she feels that she looks perfect and every piece of her silky, dark brown, shoulder length hair is in place, she heads for the door.

No time to eat breakfast here, I will just grab something on the way to work.

That breakfast usually consist of a $4 coffee and $3 bagel, or something even more expensive.

Tammy leaves out of her condo and takes the elevator to her garage. She then locates her reserved parking spot and smiles when she looks upon her pride and joy. Opening the car door she is immediately hit with that magnificent new car smell. Slipping into the plush leather seats, exhaling and gently taking hold of the wood grain German crafted steering wheel of her brand new silver S500 Benz, she starts the smooth sounding engine and heads to work. She loves everything about this car except the huge car note that she has to sometimes struggle to make each month.

Tammy makes it to work just on time as usual. She makes sure to walk a little slower this morning so that everyone can take in the new Michael Kors dress that she has just purchased over the weekend. There are a few haters as always that turns up their nose when she passes by. Most of them know that the outfit and handbag that she carries probably cost more than what they made in a two week pay period.

Finally making it to her work floor she says her usual hello‘s.

    Good morning, Charles.

    "Hi, Tammy, how are you?’

Just fine, I am still working on that report for the Smith account, but I should have it to you before the end of the day.

"Sounds great, just bring it over to my office when you are ready.

Once she makes it into her private office, she sits down at her desk and just takes in the moment. Even though she is in a ton of debt and has not curbed her bad spending habits, in her mind she has finally arrived seeing that she has the perfect job, condo, car, and lifestyle that she has always wanted. The only thing she does not have is a relationship. Even at 33 unlike most women her age, she does not really worry about having a husband and kids.

There is still time, she always says.

There is the one good looking guy Kevin that she dates off and on, and calls up when there is an event that she wants to attend and have a date for. Deep down though, she knows that he is not the one. Kevin is a player and he is kind of on the cheap side, and that alone is a deal killer. Though he is fun to hang around and looks good on her arm when they walk in a room together.

"Enough day dreaming, time to go to work."

She pulls up the files on the very important Smith account, and then checks through the numbers and marketing pitch that she has been working on. Throughout the next few hours she concentrates and works on perfecting the files.

It is now close to 2pm, and she has just finished up the report for the Smith account.

Let me take this over to Charles, before I take a late lunch.

She heads out of her office with the report in hand.

Hey Charles, here is the report, let me know if you need anything else for the account.

    Charles scans over the documents.

Everything looks good, thanks for your help on this one. Lookout for some more accounts to come your way soon.

Sounds good, just let me know. I am heading out to lunch so just call me on my cell phone if you need me.

Ok, I will, and thanks again.

    You are very welcome.

Tammy leaves out and makes it over to one of her favorite restaurants for lunch. While sitting at her table enjoying her meal, she can feel someone starring at her. She looks around and then locks eyes with a very handsome stranger.

Tammy tries to look away because she usually never stares at guys, but it is something different about him. He is not even dressed in a top of the line suit or wearing an expensive watch, and that is what usually turns her on, but he still looks good. She doesn’t know what is happening but she has an instant attraction to him. Maybe it is his nice dark piercing eyes or chiseled jawbone structure that compliments his smooth brown skin tone. Whatever it is, it is having an effect on her.

Before she realizes it he gets up from his table and starts to head towards her.

"Oh God, I hope my make-up is still on point, and I don’t have any food stuck in my teeth."

Hi, sorry to disturb you but I noticed you seating over here alone and I just had to come over and meet you. You’re a very beautiful woman.

Oh, well thank you. She says while blushing. Do you want to join me? I’m almost finished but I still have a little time left before I head back to work.

He sits down and smiles showing a great set of pearly white teeth, which is a must for Tammy.

    So, what’s your name?

    Tammy.

That’s a pretty name for a pretty lady.

    She smiles at his compliments.

I’m Carlton by the way, he says while extending his hand. Is this your first time eating here, because I’m sure that I have never seen your gorgeous face in here before?

She reaches out to take his hand and just when she is about to answer his question her phone that is sitting on the table rings, and she sees that it is her boss Charles calling. She wasn’t going to answer it but then realizes that it must be important for him to be calling her at lunch.

Excuse me but I have to take this, she says while releasing his hand.

No problem I need to get going anyway. Nice meeting you and I hope to run into you here again soon.

    Nice meeting you too.

She is annoyed for being interrupted but she does not show it in her voice when she answers her phone.

    Hi, Charles.

Hey I need to talk to you when you get back about some of the expenses on the Smith account.

    Did I do something wrong?

No, I just think that the budget on this will be higher than the numbers that you were originally quoted, so we need to make a few changes.

Ok, I will see you in a few minutes I am heading back to the office now.

    Alright see you then, bye.

She hangs up her phone and starts looking through her purse for her wallet.

Which one of these cards has enough on it to pay for this meal?

Then she realizes the bank Visa card is safe to use because the bill is not due until next week, but the rest are either at their limit or past due as usual.

Her waiter is about to pass her table so she asks him to please bring her bill.

Your bill has already been paid by the gentleman that was sitting at the table with you.

Oh, ok, thanks. Well that was very nice of him.

Just then she realizes that she failed to give him any information except her name before he left. Even though she usually never cared if a guy got her number or not, she is upset that she was not able to give it to him.

Frustrated and a little disappointed, she leaves out of the restaurant and heads back to work.

Only a few more hours and I will be finished with my work day. I wonder what my girls are doing later tonight, because I would love to check out that new spot called The Madison".

Call Kimberly. The Bluetooth in the car dialed her best friend phone number.

Hey girl, what are you doing tonight?

Nothing much, what do you have planned?

Well I want to check out that new spot that everyone is talking about over off of Peachtree Street.

That sounds cool, count me in. Are you going to call the other girls to see if they are coming out?

Natalie should be able to make it, but you know Alisha’s husband sometimes acts a little funny when it comes to her hanging out on weeknights. As a matter of fact he acts funny when it comes to her hanging out with us at all.

I know I don’t know why she hasn’t addressed that with him yet, because Russell knows better than to ever say anything about me going out, since he is never home. As a matter of fact he is has away games for the next few days.

Well you know that is just the life of a basketball player.

I know, and I should be used to it by now but sometimes it still gets a little irritating.

Well that’s understandable but he has to do what his job requires of him.

    Yeah, your right.

Ok, well I will give the other girls a call to see if they can make it out with us tonight, and I will let you know.

Ok girl, I will talk to you later.

Tammy hangs up with Kimberly and then dials Natalie who of course is ready to go out, and then she calls Alisha.

Hi Alisha, what are you up to?

Not much, just going over a few papers on my desk.

Oh ok, well I was calling to see if you want to go out with us tonight.

    "Where are you all going?’’

We are going to that new hot spot on Peachtree called The Madison. So are you in or do you have to check with Tim? Tammy asks with an attitude.

Of course I have to check with him, he is my husband. I know that you and Natalie are single and Kimberly may as well be, since her husband is never home, but I like to discuss things with my better half.

Ok, well check with him and let me know if you are in or out, so I can try to make us reservations before it gets too late.

Ok, I will call you back in a few minutes and let you know.

Cool, I will talk to you later, bye.

Oh my God, thank you that I am not married because I do not have time for all of that. I mean if I want to go somewhere I do not feel that I have to check in with my husband and get permission.

By the time she finishes her calls she has made it to the office and just as she is getting out of the car Alisha calls her back and says that she is going with them tonight. Tammy then calls and makes them all reservations for 8pm.

Once she makes it off of the elevator she heads to Charles’s office. They rework the numbers on the report like he wants. Even though she feels like the ones that she had gave will be sufficient enough, she still makes the changes at his request.

I think these numbers will work now. Thanks for taking care of this for me. Also I am sorry that I interrupted your lunch earlier.

No need to apologize. Just let me know if there is anything else that you need.

She then leaves his office and heads into her own to work on some other reports for the next few hours.

It is time for my hair appointment. So I need to leave now, because I have got to look extra good tonight.

She leaves work and heads to her appointment, and on her ride there she thinks back to her lunch and meeting Carlton.

"I sure hope that I do run into him there again, because he was too fine."

Traffic is light so she actually makes it to her appointment on time. After parking her car with care in a spot in back end of the parking lot so no one else will park beside her. She walks through the glass doors of the upscale salon that is located in one of the prime real estate areas of the city.

Decorated and filled will with all of the top notch salon equipment that money can buy, it stands out from any other salons in the city. All of the highly trained staff wears all black top of the line clothing daily. There are no loud colors on them or in their hair. They only wear the most fashionable shoes even though they may not be the most comfortable. These are some of the reasons that they are different from the rest of the salons in the area.

It is also a far cry from the salon that she would sometimes go to when she was growing up in her hometown. In there it was vinyl floors that had been worn out and needed replacing, a maximum of two shampoo bowls and three dryers so you always had to wait for someone else to finish before you could be serviced. Your appointment could be at 2pm but you were not serviced until 3pm or later. And people were constantly coming in and trying to sell their homemade desserts, copied movies, or perfumes and lotions. Yes, she has come a long way from those days.

Hi, Sasha, Tammy says when spotting her hair designer and giving her a hug.

Hi, Ms. Fabulous, how are you today?

I’m just great, what about yourself?

You know me I am just blessed and highly favored.

Good to hear that. Well, I need to look even more fabulous tonight. My friends and I are going to that new spot called The Madison.

Oh yeah everyone is talking about that place. I hear the food and atmosphere is great.

That is good to hear because I will be ready to eat when I get there tonight.

Well let me get started on your hair so I will not hold you up.

    Ok, great.

Sasha leads her to her chair and puts the cape around Tammy’s neck and then takes her to the all glass shampoo bowl. She applies one the expensive moisturizing shampoo’s to her thick hair. Then she conditions and puts a hint of color to her luxurious mane. After sitting under the dryer in a massaging chair, Sasha styles her hair
