About this ebook
This is the second book to date of my experiences in learning how to help others change, communicate, train, experience and move with the horses in their lives. As companions, steeds, and mirror reflections of the subconscious habits one has, how to become aware and change them with the ripple effect seen in all areas of their lives.
Finally, after listening to the voice inside of me that has been hounding incessantly for me to open up and write down the tale of “The Zombies” those of us who walk through life acting, living, doing, any and everything to please all others... first. I share my experiences in understanding this once confusing maze which is life to so many. With the realization that has come after so many years of teaching, writing, riding, sharing, and coaching so many zombie’s I have encountered of both kinds, horses and people, and how I have assisted them to change. What I have learned from my own experiences in understanding how they are created, and what can be done to set them free.

About the Author
Change
It is hot, it is dry, it is quiet
No breeze to move the air,
Not a sound in the stifling heat waves,
Everything so parched and bare
A darkness fills the skyline
Lightening flashing everywhere
The wind in a whipping frenzy
Things blowing all about
A drop or two touch dryness,
The ground shudders from the drought
The threat in the rumbling storm clouds
The light dimmed as the black wins out
But the rain is slow and healing
Relief as it quenches the earth’s thirst
The pastures lapping up the moisture
Each drop just as important as the first
Filling the ponds, lakes and streams
Perfectly stopping before they burst
The wonder of life’s presence
Each moment a new sense of awe
Things can be changed so quickly
Like in ones understanding of a law
Depending upon each interpretation
When one gets a different aha!

Introduction
Learning and Unlearning
The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery.
There comes a leap in consciousness,
call it intuition or what you will,
and the solution comes to you
and you don’t know how or why.
~ Albert Einstein
The perfect quote to start off my story… I am currently 57 years of age and have been learning, riding, teaching, training and coaching people and their horses since I finally got my first horse at 21 years old. My life has been an immense journey of many twists, trials, explosions, drops, and victories of trying to understand and live my purpose.
Much the same as what most of us our deliberately, knowingly, or haphazardly doing in the search of the elusive Holy Grail of being the perfect human
, whatever that may have been taught, told or explained to us by others… or to be amazing, stand out, shine in all of our glory as an example for those around us. Though many of us fail incredibly short, often enough to want to quit… except for this tiny idea of hope that keeps niggling in the back of our consciousness, keeps whispering "Yes you can, you are special, you have value, and life is supposed to be good." So you get up and try again…
I have done this repeatedly, each and every time, even when it has gotten so completely out of whack, terrifying, scary, dangerous and harmful to me. With the feeling of every one pointing their fingers at me, to tell me all about why it was my fault because I did not listen and follow everything they told me I should do… down to the letter.
Finding me finally, today, listening to the voice inside of me that has been hounding incessantly for me to open up and write down the tale of The Zombies
my new understanding of this maze which is life. A realization that has come after so many years of writing, riding, sharing, and coaching of the many zombie’s I have encountered. What I have learned in my own experiences to understand what created them, and what can be done to set them free. Though these stories can be taken quite literally as a mirror reflection of me, the horses and many of the people I interact with. We teach most what we need to learn.
So to begin…
Part One: Zombie People
Chapter One
The Beginning Years
I have some idea in mind, but the result is
always different from what I really had in mind.
~Raphael Soyer
Ahh the simple childhood… my recollections of my first few years are sketchy at best, except for the day in church with my family at about age two or three where I remember my mother’s immense concern over the convulsing reactions my body was displaying as they quickly took me to the back of church. Laying me down on the floor, as people were trying to hold down my quaking, contorting body and someone was trying to force open my mouth to get my tongue back up from back in my throat… I then found myself above the entire scene. Watching all of the struggling, frightened onlookers as I felt these presences behind me, and there were the most amazing three beings, glowing and emanating this incredible love, understanding and warmth. As my eyes became aware of the brighter light behind them that was so inviting, which as I moved toward it to look closer with this desire to feel more of the warmth of unconditional love emanating from it. One of the beings stepped between it and me and told me It is not your time
and I needed to go back because Because you have much to do
.
Whereas I turned back toward the commotion below me, I suddenly felt myself sucked back into my body below, gasping for air and then being held so very tightly for still being alive and breathing. I have no other memories of anything else directly afterwards of that day or year. Though the memory has come up many times
