About this ebook
Maggie’s secret is out of the bag—she’s psychic...
...and now her little hometown of Rockford, Michigan knows what she’s been hiding all the days of her life.
Her on-again-off-again love interest, Nic Rossi, also has something to hide, and she seems to be determined to find out exactly what that is. In the meantime, she’s running to Danny O’Brian for comfort, and is inevitably torn between the two men.
She’s recently lost her job as a social worker, and when her old flame, Joel—the police chief—elicits the help of her abilities to solve a suspicious death that has gone cold, she just can’t say no.
Soon Maggie realizes the strange things that are happening to her are not just a coincidence, and she asks her childhood friend to help her figure out who’s stalking her.
And she hopes the killer hasn’t discovered that she’s trying to catch him.
When someone keeps dumping bodies in the river, things get pretty hairy—and the seemingly quiet little town becomes dark with a yellow underbelly just waiting to be brought to the surface. Along with Maggie’s help, the police realize they now have a serial killer amongst them. The clock is ticking, and it isn’t long before he kills again. When Joel asks an old college roommate and an FBI agent for help, the two lawmen are skeptical of Maggie’s abilities, but she quickly proves them wrong.
As more bodies are found, the more entwined in the web of killing Maggie becomes...
...until the hunter becomes the hunted.
Beth Otto
Beth Otto, the self-described “girlie-girl” creator and alter-ego of Maggie Vargas, grew up in a small suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University, and was lucky in love when she met her husband of twenty-four years while vacationing in Hawaii. Today, they live with their sons in northeastern Wisconsin where, staying true to her “inner girl” in a household full of men, she is an avid chef, gardener, and stained glass artist when not working on the adventures of Maggie Vargas.
