    Note from the editor

Manorville United Methodist Church is a small rural church located along the beautiful Allegheny River in western Pennsylvania. It is a member of the Allegheny River Charge. The church has been in existence for over seventy five years. The current sanctuary was built during the Great Depression. No one had much money then, but they moved ahead and labored in faith. Many of the members have parents, grandparents and beyond who attended this church.

Although I’m a lifelong Methodist, I’m a recent member of this congregation. I moved into the community and was searching for a church home and looked no further. The minister at the time was humble, giving and Christ-like and the members of the congregation, while diverse, were some of the kindest and friendliest people I’d met.

This booklet represents the efforts of those in the congregation who were willing to witness their faith to others. We’ve seen many changes over the years, and despite challenges, remain steadfast in our faith. We love to sing out in joy on Sundays. We work together each summer to put on a fun theme based Vacation Bible School for the children in our community. We love to put together kits for UMCOR that go to provide relief for victims of disasters in the U.S. and around the world. We continually seek to update our building, making it safer, more handicapped
