    It was another cold Thursday night in January in southern Michigan where I usually have a couple of friends over to jam with me out in the garage. Since I don't have insulation in my little man-cave, we rely on a Salamander kerosene heater. It keeps us pretty warm, as long as we keep it running. The only problem with it is its noise level. I usually unplug it when we play a song, and then plug it back in to warm the place back up. The trouble is we have to try to talk over it to have our discussions. Definitely a pain; but it's a necessary pain.

    Mark has been a long-time friend who I met at a church about twenty years ago. When we discovered we both played guitar we got together and jammed a little. He played me a few of his songs, and I played him a couple of mine,
