    Chapter 1

Cynthia Chapman was bored with her life, tired of her routine, but whenever she found herself thinking this, she found it hard to believe. Just three months earlier, the farthest she had been from home was the two hundred mile trip she had made to Phoenix for college. From there, she had returned to the small Arizona town where she had grown up, greeted by her family and friends, and then settled into a mediocre part time nursing job. Now she was living in Las Vegas, which, although it was technically closer to her hometown than Phoenix was, it was worlds away from anything she had ever experienced. Her old job was now replaced with a position in an emergency room, something Cynthia now thought of as a career, as opposed to her former position, which she had only accepted to gain experience. She was twenty-seven, living in Sin City, and finally working in a position she loved, yet something was missing. Cynthia had a nagging feeling that it had to do with her recent breakup.

It was not so much that Cynthia was single that bothered her; after all, she had never been the typical little girl who dreamed of a white wedding and three children. She had always been independent, and she certainly had asserted that independence when she left her life behind in Arizona three months earlier. Cynthia had dated Eric off and on throughout college, and he when he had contacted her and talked her into giving things another try, she decided, after much debate, that it was time to make a change, take a chance. Despite the warnings of her friends and particularly her mother, Cynthia put in her notice at work and moved to Vegas. She was ready for an adventure, ready to experience the world in a whole new way.

Unfortunately, her relationship with Eric crashed and burned without delay, and within two weeks of her arrival, she was apartment hunting on her own. Discouraged, Cynthia seriously considered moving back home, but the thought of returning made her feel like a disappointment. Besides, she loved her new job, although she had only just started it, and that was worth at least sticking around for a few more months. Now, Cynthia was settled into her one bedroom apartment, but she had no friends to speak of. She still kept in touch with her Arizona crowd, but the closest she had to friends in Vegas were her coworkers, and, although she got along fine with most of them, there was no one she felt close to, connected with. The loneliness was getting to Cynthia.

The solitude was not easy to break, either. Cynthia had never been incredibly outgoing. She was a typically nice girl who often found herself picking up the slack for her coworkers. Some would say she was an easy target to be taken advantage of. In her personal life, though, she was an entirely different person. With her friends, she was outspoken and assertive, but it took time for Cynthia to let her true personality out. In fact, her dominant streak, she felt, had probably hindered her past relationships with men. It seemed that most of the college guys she had dated were only interested in meek, submissive women, and although she may have appeared that way at first glance, Cynthia was in no way passive once someone got to know her. She did not mind a strong man, but she wanted one who was willing to share the power.

On top of these insecurities, Cynthia had always felt like a bit of an outsider. She had never been one of the popular girls. She was not tall, blond, and thin like they were. On the contrary, she had an exaggerated hourglass physique, replete with large breasts, wide hips, and an ample behind. Size wise, she was average; everything from her dress size to her height of five and a half feet was standard for a woman. Something that did set her apart, however, was her very pale skin. Others also often commented on the beauty of Cynthia’s shocking green eyes. She had dark brown hair that bordered on black that hung just below her shoulder blades. It would be easy to, at a glance, to dismiss Cynthia, but anyone who spent more than a second looking at her would realize her beauty. She looked like she belonged in a classic painting.

Since Cynthia now felt so disconnected from the people she had met in Vegas thus far, she turned to the internet. She was not looking to join a dating site, but she was looking for some entertainment. It did not take long before she stumbled onto a website dedicated entirely to
