About this ebook
Steve works in a dead end job and feels he has never fitted in anywhere. He has had a disturbing and dysfuntional past, which still haunts him in the form of his venemous mothers spirit. He has been dealing with his inner demons for too long and is now growing to fulfill his life's true purpose; he has a job, a calling from a higher power, that requires a blood letting. What Steve doesn't know is that, that higher power is being challenged. In order to win a war, you must first know your enemy.
Simon Parker
Hi, I'm Simon Parker and I write horror/paranormal fiction. I have been writing since I learnt my alphabet but after a false start at nineteen, I have only just published my first works. I have three short horror stories available at the moment and have a collection of thirteen stories being released around Christmas 2012. I am also working on my first full length novel called The Elohim Experiment, which should be ready for release around Halloween 2013. I'm 43 years old and I'm obsessed with all things horror, but my beautiful wife and my gorgeous kids keep me safely grounded in the light! I'm a prolific reader as well as a writer and frequently have three or four books on the go at any given time. I have several favourite established authors but favour indie authors, there's some amazing talent out there, and do everything I can to help fellow writers; it's nice if this is reciprocated but thats not why I do it. I do try to promote my own work, but I'm still too bashful for shameless self promotion. I'm deep and complex, I always have an open ear for those who seek it. I have an opinion about most things but will never try to ram it down your throat. If you want to talk, approach me, I don't bite (well not too hard anyway :-)

For my family, whose love keeps me sane!
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing. Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before
The Raven, Edgar Allan Poe, published 1845.
The Killer Angel.
Steven Winters sat, head in hands, biting back the tears like a chastised child, willing themselves to be brave. He had been through this so many times before. Why did God feel the need to punish him like this again? He vividly recalled his first experience of this feeling. His mind drifted back; he was five years old. His mother was drunk again; she always scared him when she was drunk; so bitter and full of venom. His father had been full of his own particular brand of venom two hours previous, when he had been shouting at mummy. Then he had spat a big green yucky in mummy’s face, followed closely by a punch that had floored her and speckled little Stevie’s Batman pyjamas & face with expirated nasal blood. Daddy had stomped off and slammed the door, shouting the ‘F’ and ‘B’ words that little Stevie was forbidden to say. He’d been spanked hard when he’d asked mummy what they meant and she’d squirted washing up liquid in his mouth and made him sick. She looked angrily at him, her eyes slightly askew and bloody drool encrusted on her chin.
What are you staring at you little shit?
she slurred, moving in a zombie like gait towards him. This is all your fault you little fucker, we were fine until you came along, doing just fine and dandy until our little screaming shit machine fucked up our happiness! Now look, he hates me, hates you, hates this shit hole we have to live in and it’s all your fault!
her clumsy stumble had reached him now as he stood there, like a small deer caught in the
