About this ebook

A woman facing life.

Agreeing to be a surrogate was meant to bring happiness to both Jen and her older sister Annie. A horrific accident, however, leaves Jen not only grieving, but pregnant with twins.

A man who has faced death.

With the clock ticking until he loses his whole world, cancer survivor Garrick needs to unwind before he becomes just another statistic.

Their worlds collide.

What Garrick finds in his hotel apartment not only shocks him to the core, but dregs up a whole world of pain he would rather had stayed buried.

Has fate finally decided to finish the job and kick Garrick while he is down? Or has she sent him an angel in disguise?

For my darling husband, who shows me each and every day that happily ever after’s are not only found in books. And also for Storm, for without your guidance, this book would have been just another forgotten memory.

    Chapter One

"You have to take this opportunity, Jen. You know that you won’t get a chance like this again for years, if ever. Take the leap and go! I’ve already looked into every single aspect of the resort, and it is completely safe, I promise, Jen. It’s a fully licensed and accredited resort, specializing in clientele with extenuating circumstances for their stay. They won’t even bat an eyelid when you get there, hun. And no one needs to know why you’re there either, as the whole place looks just like a regular hotel resort. Tons of celebrities that just need a little private time out to relax and unwind with a companion stay there, too.

Besides, they thoroughly screen and match each person before giving out a booking date, so they won’t match you with someone who won’t suit your personality. And besides, I asked my friend Sam who is a P.I about it. He checked them out for me, and he says they have the very highest screening protocol he has ever seen, and that their security is world class, too.

Nat could only snicker as she tapped the laptop’s screen, drawing Jen back to the page. They won’t match you with anyone with a dependency problem, as you’re not going into the rehab program at the resort, silly.

Jenni fidgeted in her chair and sighed, taking in the website opened before her. The site had no fancy eye catching or gimmicky advertisement, promising to give you two nights free if you pay for five, or some other cheesy offer. Instead it was simple yet elegant in its design. The only details it contained were the resort’s name and its location on the border of the Nevada desert, a link to the application form, and another link to their mission statement and confidentiality promise to their prospective clientele.

"Take the chance, Jen. You know I wouldn’t do anything to upset you or put you in any danger, especially not now. But you need this, hun. A little walk on the wild side with guaranteed stress relief. Not to
