About this ebook

Vince tells his story, a tale of love that grew from a childhood friendship into the stages of early adulthood. Unfortunately his best friend Tari is taken, and it seems that there is very little time before Vince loses his chance to confess. His playful, immature, and comic personality brings life to his story, but will it be enough to capture Tari's heart?

I am a writer of many faces, and to say that I am just a romance author is somewhat of an understatement. I tend to lean toward things out of the ordinary for most people, and I want to shine a light on struggles that other people are going through to lend a bit of knowledge that may not have been available in readers' daily lives. The way I choose to do this happens to be love. It can be the love of another person, of a fetish, or even a planet. In any case, I hope that something can be learned from it whether it be self discovery or a sense of understanding.I also have many other, smaller goals I wish to reach through my writing. I want my readers to laugh, have their hearts skip a beat, become seduced, remember the ache of heartbreak, and I want them to mend. I want my words to reach as many eyes, heads, and hearts as possible, so I make many of my books free. If my books are enjoyable, please pass them along, and I thank everyone deeply who has helped me to reach my goals.

Hey Vincent? What do you think about doing a volcano?

I smiled when I heard that voice say my name. It relaxed me, and caused me to laugh.

What Tari’s head tilted like a confused puppy.

You mean like one of those baking soda volcanoes? We’re too old for that now. Our science project has to be something a little more complex.

My comment caused Tari to pout. Despite the fact that we both had already graduated from high school the previous summer, Tari still managed to put on a childish face. I gave in to that face and its every desire.

So… maybe we can do a volcano with other materials using our chemistry skills. Is that ok?

Tari’s lips curled into a smile, and I saw those green orbs brighten again. Of course I had to give in. I loved the feeling…I loved him.

Tari was damn adorable. He had flippy black hair that he would often smooth back with his fingers so it would stay from his deep green eyes. His skin was olive, and nearly flawless aside from a few freckles that dotted his shoulders and two dark ones on his left cheek. Those were his lucky freckles, and he would always have his mother and his little sister kiss them to bring him good fortune when it was needed. He was a smaller boy, or young man I suppose. He only came up to my chest at a little less than five and a half feet. And his build was not heroic, but he certainly wasn’t scrawny. He was a runner. He only ran on the weekends, and I sometimes ran with him just to give him support.

I myself was a swimmer. I could play soccer as well, but my upper body strength made most of my build. Unlike Tari, I was as white as can be, brown eyes, and brown hair that was generally flat but would get wavy and shaggy if I grew it out. Tari always liked my hair. He said the color made him jealous, but I urged him to keep his black.

Can we make the lava a different color other than red? He asked.

Yeah, sure. Not pink or purple though-

    Why?!

    He leaned forward. I smiled.

Because it’s … well what color did you want?

He sat back and thought about it, his eyes wandered to the ceiling.

    Orange! He said at last.

    Orange? You got it.

I got a pen and notebook from my back pack and started writing things down. We were in Tari’s room, there were a few things that had the characteristics of a girl’s room, but it was mostly the fact that it was actually clean. He had a full size bed with dark purple covers. The rest of the room was decorated in grey, his favorite color.

    Hey Vince?

    Hey Tari.

Should we really be doing the community science fair anymore? I mean… we’re in college now

I looked at him, he stirred and played with his hands nervously.

Why do you think that? I asked, and he grew uneasy. I knew why; I knew who had made him change his mind.

Well… Lexi said that I’m a man now and that-

A man? Hahah! You can be a man and still be in a science contest

I know but…she said that if I was to do the science thing again then she would have to be my partner

    His words struck me.

But Tari, we’ve been doing the science fair together since we were little kids!

Tari was still nervous-like. I hated that girl. I hated Lexi and the fact that she alone had Tari… but how could I complain? He never knew how I felt, and he could never know.

I know, but she thinks that if I’m a man, then I should save the important things to do with her. I asked her if we could all do it together, she said no…

    I wanted
