Seven year old Mason worshiped the ground his Dad walked on but Dad was about to be posted to an overseas war zone. His parents explained the possibilities and risks but Mason would need to become the man of the family for awhile.
He was saving money from his paper route to buy a shiny new bike but he also wanted to contribute to the peace efforts his father would be involved with. Many conflicts and mixed emotions for a young boy to deal with and with an upcoming birthday, his dog Reckless, Sister, Mom and his job he still needed to make time for school and praying for his Dad to come home safely.

RJ Dalton was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in the summer of 1964 to French/German Catholic parents. The youngest of nine siblings in a single-parent home, she began writing short stories and poetry at a young age. Inspired by those who have faced adversity and hardship only to conquer and rise above any misfortunes they were dealt. “Don’t cry over spilt milk, just clean it up and pour yourself another glass!” Her love of children, history and animals and the events that she both witnessed and experienced in her formative years, are the themes of her writing.

What will they say? What will they do?
Jenny Koch looked at her husband, Brandon, with eyes bigger than saucers. Brandon was in the military and had just received his orders to go overseas. He had never been called up for active duty even though he had trained many years for it.
