About this ebook
In this story of an "alternative present," university students from all over the world are linked, via the internet, to tune in to the announcement made by CERN regarding the potential discovery of the Higgs boson. The party bills itself (a la Columbia University) as an all-night slumber party in anticipation of CERN's announcement.
At the hub of this global internet effort is Avia Sokratis, a physics major at a small private school in the mountains. Avia's university is throwing a party of their own at the local student cafe, and all of Avia's friends -- and even Avia's ex-girlfriend -- are there.
But what Avia's really looking for is someone to share her excitement with: someone to love. TJ Yukawa, a fine arts major, enters the picture. TJ and Avia seem to hit it off. But will they fall in love?

ABDL fanfic writer. I love anything that expands my imagination. So a lot of my stories are sci-fi based, just because of the technology. Or magic-based, just because... well... you can do anything with magic. I try to infuse art as well as kink in my stories. And politics as well as pornography. Only short stories on the Smashwords site. But I hope to change that for you all soon.

Well, necessity is the mother of invention.
Oh! And I guess I get to be the big motherfu—
Whoa, now! Wait a minute!
Frankie Hudson laughed.
Avia Sokratis furrowed her brow a bit. She adjusted a virtual lever on her second computer screen. Hm… Can you laugh again?
Can I what?
Oh! Did I hear my All-American Boy?
Annette Connor cried. She had just walked into the Java Bean, the campus café. Avia, and, technically, Frankie, had gotten here before everybody else.
Yes,
Avia said. And I’ve had him all to myself for all of fifteen minutes!
Frankie!
Annette cried, running around the table to the computer screen. Oh, how I’ve missed seeing your face!
But we just Skyped each other this morning.
But this is a special occasion!
Frankie gave Annette a wry glance.
Okay, fine. So I’m a drama queen. So what?
Avia saw Siobahn behind Annette. Avia’s heart leapt with happiness! She didn’t know if Siobahn was actually going to be here. She’d been acting so strange lately.
Avia said, Frankie, Annette, I’ll leave you two love birds alone for a moment.
Avia walked up to Siobahn and gave her a hug. Siobahn froze up on Avia. Avia got a sinking feeling in the pit of her stomach. She went to give Siobahn a kiss on the cheek. But Siobahn backed away and shook her head.
Avia,
Siobahn said, I’ve got to tell you…
Avia could feel all the color rushing out of her face. Siobahn must have seen it. Siobahn quickly changed what she was saying.
I’ve got a headache. I’m tired. I’m just not in the mood for… whatever…
Avia tried to keep herself from knowing what she already knew. She tried to keep a positive attitude, and to act like nothing was happening between her and Siobahn. She said, Oh – right. I – You know, I can’t just sit here cuddling, either. I have to get this whole show on the road.
As Avia sat back down before the computer, Frankie said, So, what does everything look like, Avia?
