Preface
Conception and approach of this book
Over the years, I have listened to several inspirational and subliminal tapes. All these and other personal development tools emphasize self-empowerment, possibility thinking, and other aspects of personal development. Among others, and in no particular order, I have read the following books and magazines on personal growth:
• The Magic of Thinking Success: Your Personal Guide to Financial Independence by David Joseph Schwartz
• The Magic of Thinking Big by David Joseph Schwartz
• Psycho-Cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz
• Mind Power into the 21st Century: Techniques to Harness the Astounding Powers of Thought by John Kehoe
• The Tough-Minded Optimist by Norman Vincent Peale
• The Power of Your Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy
• Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude by Napoleon Hill and W. Clement Stone
• Succeed and Grow Rich Through Persuasion by Napoleon Hill
• Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
• How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
• How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie
• Bring Out the Magic in Your Mind by Al Koran
• Intuition Magazine published by Intuitive Media, Inc., San Francisco, CA
• The Psychologist Magazine published by Thorsons Publishers, London, England
• Move Ahead with Possibility Thinking by Robert H. Schuller
• The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
• The Power of Miracle Metaphysics by Robert B. Stone
• The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol
• Power Through Constructive Thinking by Emmet Fox
What is my point? My point is that I do have a penchant for exploring mathematical concepts as I do for personal development.
To some people, everything about this book may be unusual or strange except probably the title. You can also say that the content is unusual, because it is not written strictly in line with any traditional curriculum (and it does not have to). You can also say the same on the chapter lengths because of the briefness. You can also say that the general format is unusual. At this point, you are probably thinking or asking whether this is a book on mathematics or a book on personal development. You are right! It is a book on both. They are all concerned with mind development. Generally, we can also say that the whole book is strange, and is not an accident. It is planned in that way.
