About this ebook
Keratoconus is a degenerative and slow progressive disorder often presented in the teens or early twenties with steepening results: slight blurring, distortion of vision and increased sensitivity to light and glare. For ten to twenty years, it may progress and then slow or stabilize. This is may go undetected for long periods of time because there is no display of any acute symptoms such redness and inflammation. Experts believe it always affects both eyes, although you may notice more severe symptoms in only one eye. If you or a loved one is suffering from keratoconus, this informative book outlines the causes, tests and treatment options available to combat this distressing disorder.

Introduction
It started with minor blurry vision. Later, you noticed that both distant and near vision seem to look distorted. Then, you find it difficult to identify the correct colors and shapes. You may observe this abrupt change of vision in just one eye. As you view using just an eye, you develop double vision. Together with these changes, you become sensitive to glare and light affecting your ability to drive or read normal print. In addition, you seem to see halos over bright lights. These changes in your vision tend to worsen from day to day. Eventually, you’re diagnosed as suffering from a degenerative disorder of your cornea known as Keratoconus (KC). The following picture shows an example of how the letter A may appear to a person with normal vision vs. keratoconus.
