Super Villain!!

A comedy based in the "comic book" world. In which a Super Villain (The Remote) finds himself alone in the world after his Super Hero (Excelsior) is killed off by a better Super Villain. The play at its core is about soul mates, and not letting go of who you are, even if you're the bad guy.

Super Villain!! was written in 2008 and was first put up in 2009 at The Empty Space Theater in Bakersfield Ca. Where it ran to packed houses and won eight awards (Empties). In July 2011 the show made its premier on a proscenium stage at Bakersfield Community Theater.

Super Villain!! is part one in a trilogy.

THE REMOTE: Super Villain, male, 20’s-30’s. Wears all black, and a black mask (or make up) around his eyes, loves comic books. A Super Villain that uses remotes to cause chaos wherever he sees fit. Has been in love with both Kim and Terri, and hates Excelsior more than any other person on the planet.

TERRI THE TERRORIST: Super Villain, female, 20’s-30’s. Works with The Remote, and was once in love with him. She uses tarot cards to see the future, also a knife and crossbow to get her point across. She is

PROFESSOR GIMP: Super Villain, male 20’s-40’s. The world’s most super intelligent retard (remember these are the bad guys we are dealing with), good friend to The Remote, works on his remotes for him.

EXCELSIOR: Super Hero, male 20’s-30’s. The greatest Super Hero in the world, sent to earth from his dying planet, has many powers much like another famous super hero, and is the arch enemy to The Remote. He is in love with Kim.

KIM: Sexy reporter, female 20’s-30’s. Girlfriend to Excelsior, use to date The Remote. She is strong, smart, and caring. Fell in love with Excelsior when he saved her.

SIDEKICK: Super Hero, male 20’s-30’s (can also be played by 2 actors, a young one in the past, and an older actor in the present). Sidekick to Excelsior, believes in fighting evil and standing up for the underdog.

CLOWN LEADER: Super Villain, male 20’s-40’s. Leader of the Cocaine Clown Cyndicate (Syndicate), one of the lowest crime groups in all the comic book world. Has been doing cocaine and clown work so long, that he is now dead pan, no emotion what so ever.

TIMMY: Male 10-12 (can be played by any age actor). Young and confused about life.

DOUGHNUT GUY: Male, 20’s-40’s. Works at the doughnut shop The Remote eats at.

MR. PRESIDENT: Male, 30’s-50’s. The President of these United States.

BUM: Male, 20’s 50’s. A fucking hobo.

BUM 2: Male, 20’s-50’s. Another fucking hobo.

GUY: Male, 20’s-50’s. Just some guy.

NARRATOR: The Narrator for the show, is like a 1940’s radio news reporter.

Super Villain!! first performance was in March of 2009, at The Empty Space Theater in Bakersfield Ca. Directed by James Kopp.

ACT 1

SCENE 1

Blackout continues.

A single spotlight hits a far side of the stage the REMOTE walks from the back into the light. He is dressed all in black wearing a black mask around his eyes, and is holding his remote of doom.

REMOTE: Are you listening to me?? Do you know why you are here?? I do, you were dragged here, and now you have to sit there in that uncomfortable seat and listen to my

bullshit. This is not how you wanted to spend your evening. You were brought here under a flag of peace in hopes to bring all of this to an end. But you’re trapped in my secret lair and not even your precious super hero can stop me now!!

The lights come up on the rest of stage to show the lair.

SIDEKICK is tied down to a table in the middle of the room.

PROFESSOR GIMP is standing in the back, while TERRI is lurking on the far side of the stage.

The REMOTE moves into this scene.

REMOTE: I said, are you listening to me?!?

SIDEKICK: You’ll never get away with this, you monster!! Untie me!!

REMOTE: Scream all you want fat head!! We’re miles away from anyone!! Only you, me, and my associates. Oh I’m sorry, you haven’t been introduced.

REMOTE walks over to PROFESSOR GIMP.

REMOTE: This is Professor Gimp, the world’s most super intelligent retard.

GIMP: I put on clothes today.

REMOTE gives a nod to SIDEKICK, as if to say pretty nice huh.
