About this ebook
Wise-cracking mechanic Jessie Wyndom gets the surprise of her life when she's accidentally transported aboard an Alliance of Planets starship. Then, she learns an identical twin who was raised on an alien planet has taken her place on Earth. They are victims of a scientific experiment that separated Terran twins before birth. Jessie doesn't believe it. This is all a gag perpetrated by her brother and his nerdy friends.
Years of discipline enables Captain Marcus Viator to maintain the austere, emotionless persona prized on his planet, Serenia. Until he meets the bold, impertinent Jessie. She must go back to Earth before she disrupts his well-organized life. When he tries to return his unwilling visitor, he discovers the ship has left Earth's orbit--supposedly at his command. When more sabotage crops up, Marcus and Jessie must work together to protect the crew and themselves. As their attraction grows, treachery and violence force them into decisions that could separate them forever.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I'm really torn on this one. I enjoyed the overall story concept... but the main character was weak and inconsistent, and the writing was less than great. ("She shrugged her shoulders emptily." Really? Emptily? How does one shrug her shoulders emptily?)
But... I did enjoy the overall story concept.
Will I go on to read Trylle #2? Perhaps. Perhaps not. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was a fun read. I read it in one sitting! The "trylle" aspect was different and not as I expected. And the cover is gorgeous!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Of course another master piece by Ms. Hocking! She is a master storyteller that can create and bring you into the magical world she creates within the book. There is an under tone of confident girl who beings to realize she can do what she has to do on her own. There is a touch of a love story with all the drama and excitement to keep you coming back for more. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I don't know why I waited so long to start this series, especially after reading My Blood Approves....
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Amanda Hocking has written a story that will forever be one of my favorites! Trylle is incredibly magical and has left me extremely eager for the next installment! Switched is truely a ravishing romance that has never been told!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Interesting take on an alternate race, being trolls. Not trolls in the sense of known myths but ones who live among us. Wendy never felt like she fit in and finally she found out. Finn Holmes, a new kid in school, is really her tracker; sent to bring her back to live among her true kind.Fun, fast-paced and a new idea for paranormal fiction. I really enjoyed it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5"Switched" is your typical teenage, paranormal romance, this time dealing with trolls. Although not an in-depth read, it is accessible, humorous in parts and quite a page turner so I think it will be popular with the girls who devour this type of book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked how this focused on trolls rather than fairies. I liked Wendy and the girl that she grew up to be, even with her mother trying to kill her. I liked Finn and the chemistry that him and Wendy had together.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really enjoyed this book. The plot was really good and the writing easy to read. My only hope is that the next book picks up where this one left off because the ending left you kind of hanging. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys YA and Fantasy because it has an element of both.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5♥♥~♥ ♥~♥♥~♥ I won "Switched" through an Early Reviewers giveaway program Thank you!"Switched" is a quick enjoyable read. The characters were well developed and have great chemistry between them! The plot, story line and events were well written & very enjoyable!I recommend this book!!!A great read!♥:)♥♥~♥ ♥♥I am eagerly waiting for book two"Torn"& book three"Ascend"!♥♥ **Warring some language may not be suitable for(teen)readers**
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A good beginning to this trilogy. Wendy is your typical high-school senior. A little more troubled than some, since her mother tried to kill her, but her brother and aunt love her very much. Then she finds out changelings are real and she is one. There are possibilites in the Trylle, but I am waiting to find out what makes them different from the elves and supes in other series. They don't really stand out much yet. A good grounding story, Wendy is not too whiny, I am waiting to see what happens next.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A great read. If you love Twilight, Hunger Games, and Divergent, you will love this series of novels.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing story. At first I was pretty hesitant about the storyline but decided to give it a try and I was sure glad that I did. What a refreshing take on the paranormal genere that is so saturated with vampire, wereworlfe, fairie, ect stories. I ended up really liking the characters in the end even though some of them bothered me throught the book. Awesome cant wait to read the sequel!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is my first book I read on the Kindle and I must admit I'm in love. The Kindle is easy to use and to read from. I picked this book since the author is from my hometown. Also it was only .99 cents on Amazon. The writing had problems and a few typos, but I was interested in the story and it kept me reading. I wanted to know what happened and I still do. I now need to get the next one. She has successfully sucked me in to the life of her story. This is something many more renowned authors have yet to do. I'm hooked, what will happen to Wendy and Fin? Will Rhys be okay in the real world? I want to know. This is going to appeal to the teen and preteen out there. A girl who feels lost and doesn't really belongs discovers she was right. Wars and decisions hang on her choices. What teenager doesn't want to mean more then they feel they do. They may be loved by their families, but to be loved and needed my a whole kingdom? That is a dream come true, or it is?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Captivating characters and storyline. Ever feel like you don't belong in your family or anywhere else for that matter? Wendy feels the exact same way and thanks to a boy in her class she finds out why.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I love that they re-designed the covers for this series. After reading and loving Hollowland I was excited to start a new series by Amanda Hocking, and she doesn't disappoint with Switched.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The title of the novel refers to the fact that protagonist Wendy is a changeling, having been switched at birth with a human boy to become a parasite living off of a rich & wealthy human family. Aside from the fact that the novel deals with changelings, however, there is another interesting plot device: Wendy is a troll. The ideas espoused are fascinating. The writing, on the other hand, is pretty horrific. This novel was previously a bestselling self-published e-book, and the author gets my kudos for successful marketing and sales, but not for craftsmanship. As I've previously stated, the ideas are terrific; the writing, however, is simply not good enough to make the ideas shine. My verdict: pass on this novel, unless you are only interested in the plot of a novel.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I received this advanced copy of Switched through LT on Saturday last - finished it just minutes ago! I loved it! Hocking created characters that engaged the reader; Wendy, Fin, Rhys, Tove, Willa to name a few - From the beginning with the actual fact that Wendy was not actually born to Kim but a changeling to the conclusion of going home it was a fast paced, wonderfully written story. I can't wait for next in the series "Torn"! I am off in search of other books by Amanda Hocking. =:)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I actualy enjoyed this, I've been getting burned out on a lot of the YA and paranormal book out there but this had enough of a fresh twist and action to keep it interesting and keep you guessing. This is a trilogy I will see to the finish.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I was really looking forward to this book, but unfortunately it ended up falling flat. Wendy came off as very self centered and bratty. Her love interest (I won't mention his name, so no spoilers) felt completely one dimensional & robotic. His sudden declaration of love near the end didn't fit in with how his character behaved throughout the rest of the book. The concept was great, but the execution wasn't what I was hoping for.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Wasn't overly impressed with the writing style. Not a bad story, but didn't really find it to be overwhelmingly creative beyond the mother's power of painting the future, which I felt to be truly unique and would love to see some sort of series that focus on powers of that ilk.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I found this book to be very entertaining, but the protagonist lacked depth and wasn't likable and readers might not be able to relate. Wendy would continually say she was trying very hard and then contradict herself with her actions and stories of her past. Maybe she'll grow up a little before the next novel in the trilogy.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I had a really hard time getting into the story, though by all accounts I should have eaten it up. I found the main character increasingly unsympathetic and found it hard to root for her. Gave up after 4 chapters :-(
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I really enjoyed Switched. I thought the concept was extremely new and different. I've never read or even heard of a fantasy book involving trolls. I liked the fresh, new take on the more common view of trolls. In this world, they are beautiful, powerful, and devious creatures. The idea that Wendy is a changeling and was swapped at birth with a human was intriguing, however I found that the reasoning behind the Trylle's use of changelings was just ridiculous. Swapping babies with rich families just to access money so they can live their lifestyle without working is on the verge of disgusting. I grimace at the thought of such a thing. I would think that Wendy would have been a little more resistant and appalled at her situation but it didn't seem that was the case. However, I thought it was quite a good start to a series and it ended with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I have finished this crazy little book. A few more gramatical errors than I would like but i got over that. For the most part it was a cute gripping book but i don't know that I am going to jump up and get the sequel right now or ever. I like Wendy and Finns story but it is kind of "young" reading for me. We will see.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When I read about Switched, I was very excited to get my hands on it. It is very rare to come across books about Trolls in the fantasy genre. I have to say that after reading it, I am a little disappointed. The story was good, but the characters lacked any real descriptions at all. For the life of me I couldn't picture what a single character looked like, including the heroine Wendy. I also felt that the readers aren't given enough information about the Trylle community or their lifestyle. That being said, the story is great and I can't wait to read the next one to see what happens and hopefully get some more answers!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another great one by Ms Hocking! the characters were interesting, likable and quirky. The storyline was well done, highly entertaining and full of twists and turns. I tore right through this book and intended to get the others but they were pulled in e-book format and are being re-released as paperbacks and new e-books. Already put the other two in the series on pre-order!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Switched by Amanda Hocking is an outstanding novel. It's a refreshing story away from the usual witches, vampires, werewolves, etc... but it still holds the paranormal appeal. The characters are very likable and the story line is interesting. I can not wait for the next to this promising trilogy.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Having read the description of this book I didn't know what to fully expect, but I certainly wasn't expecting what it turned out to be. And sure it was a little weird at first, but it was different and I liked it. Monarchy's are always interesting, especially when you have some characters who are sympathetic towards those they shouldn't be nice to and those who abide by social class protocol. There are also many different characters. Some who are pleasant, some you don't quite grasp, and those you hate. But they each play their part to create a rather different yet very interesting story. And that short story was quite intriguing as well.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I really couldn't muster up too much enthusiasm for this book. It wasn’t bad, but it was slow moving. Nothing really happened throughout the story and I never felt a connection with any of the characters. I disliked the way Wendy was treated by Elora. There was no real reason for it and Wendy was kept in the dark a lot regarding what was going on and what she was expected to do. I wanted more answers to my questions and I guess they may be in the next two books, but I’m not sure when that is going to happen.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Amanda wrote a great story ! Switched is a modern twist on fairy tales. Great character development and plot. Some of it was predictable but most YA books are to me! If you love teen paranormal romance this is a must read!
