Fireball Katie keeps everyone guessing what she’ll do next, and surfer Todd keeps showing up while popular Rick has determined to get her full attention! As these memorable years unfold, Christy and her God-loving friends find out what it means to be a “peculiar treasure.” Follow Christy Miller as she stays true to her identity in Christ, drawing closer to God for help in realizing her dreams and dealing with her disappointments.
Whether you’re meeting her for the first time or have known her for years—
Christy Is a Forever Friend
Summer Promise
Fourteen-year-old Christy Miller has the dream summer ahead of her in sun-kissed California, staying with her aunt and uncle at their beachfront home. Aunt Marti loves to shop, and those surfers are cute—especially Todd. Christy promised her parents she wouldn’t do anything she’d regret later, and some of her beach friends are a little wild. But Todd and his “God-Lover” friends are giving Christy a new image of all things eternal. Can this summer live up to its promise?
A Whisper and a Wish
Christy’s family has moved to California just in time for her sophomore year of high school. But they’re not in Newport Beach, where she spent the summer. Instead they’re an hour and a half away and Christy has to start all over making friends. Despite an embarrassing escapade at a slumber party, things are going pretty well...until some midnight fun leads to a trip to the police station. Does God really hear every whisper? Does He know our every wish? Then why is it so hard to know who your friends really are?
Yours Forever
Christy is back at Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob’s house on the beach for the entire week between Christmas and New Year’s...and Todd is in town, too! The cute surfer completely captured Christy’s heart last summer, and she’s eager to spend every possible minute with him. But soon Christy and her aunt are barely speaking, and it seems like all her friends are mad at her, too—including Todd! Is he hers or isn’t he? And why would God let things get so tangled?
Story Behind the Book
“The Christy Miller series was actually born when a group of thirteen-year-olds challenged me to write a novel. I’d been questioning the content of their favorite books when they said, ‘Why don’t you write a book for us?’ I told them no, I only wrote picture books. But they persisted: ‘How hard could it be? We’ll even tell you what to write! We want a love story with teenagers at the beach.’ And there you go. Summer Promise first released seventeen years ago and is now translated into five languages. I continue to hear from readers all over the world, many girls saying that they gave their life to Christ after reading Summer Promise. I love that!”

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5has a lot of drama and you can actully feel yourself in the book like you dont want to put it down
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The Christy Miller series is about a teenage girls life who goes through many absticles with her family, friends, and her boyfriend. It sends out many good messages aobut God for whoever reads it. Its good for peopl ewho have a good sense of adventure and romance.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5these books starts of the christy miller series in a very good way. she has some hard decisions to make and meets the guy of her dreams, literally.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The first book of the Christy Miller series of young adult Christian books gets off to a rough start, with her visiting her "materialistic" aunt and uncle in Newport Beach, Calif. A naive Wisconsin farm girl, who's apparently unable to choose a bathing suit on her own, Christy struggles to make friends with "the kids on the beach" until her rich aunt takes her shopping. A series of events leads her to meet Todd and Tracy (not siblings), who are born-again Christians, and we learn why you're not really a Christian unless you "pray to accept Jesus in your heart." (This will doubtless come as news to millions of Roman Catholic and Orthodox Christians.) The book ends abruptly with Christy being called back to Wisconsin on a moment's notice. What will happen next? I guess we'll have to tune in. Unless it's free, I won't be spending my money to find out.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I read the first book in this series "Summer Promise." It is availible as an ebook for $5.99. The book focuses on Christy Miller a 14 year old girl who leaves her home in the midwest to vacation in California with her rich aunt and uncle. The book follows Christy's journey as she strives to be a pretty, popular girl who has everything she wants. Just when it seems her dream has begun an accident happens and Christy begins questioning everything she has been taught about God,death, and success. The book is well written and approprite for mature young teens as it deals with issues like drugs, sex, and dating. My only suggestion is that you specifiy your veiws on these subjects before hand. Overall it was a very good book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I read this book way back when I was around 12. I found it just as enjoyable now that I am an adult. Christy seemed a little too innocent to me now, but I think thats just because Im older now. I dont think I realized back then just how heavy some of the themes were. But they are written in such a way that they are not too heavy for young teens. In a few years I will be happy for my daughter to read these books!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this story. I loved that it was a clean romance story that my YA daughters could read without me cringing. They enjoyed this story as well. The only thing negative that was said by any of my girls, as well as myself, is that the writing style was a little "jumpy" or as said in an earlier review, a bit stilted.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Christy Miller is a story about a farm girl who goes on a summer trip to vist her Aunt and Uncle. When she's there she finds a ton of new friends that help her grow in learning more about her self. Christy Miller is a good book because many girls can relate to the story and the main character in the book. When I read this book I couldn't put it down. It one of those books that you always want to know what's going to happen next. It's a great book for anyone.
