About this ebook
Sometimes a samurai's most dangerous opponent is herself.
Ever since their father's murder, Kimi and Hana have honed their fighting skills and prepared for vengeance against their vicious uncle Hidehira. They have become true warriors with the hearts of samurai.
Now their fight has become more than just a personal vendetta. As Hidehira's quest for power continues, he is destroying the province and is poised to invade the rest of the kingdom. After both girls are nearly killed in a fire while fighting their uncle's soldiers, their mother insists on attempting to enlist the support of the Shogun.
But at the Shogun's court, the sisters are torn apart by their differences, especially when they rediscover an old friend with a shrouded past. Danger lurks in the most elegant circumstances—behind the smiling face of an aristocrat as well as behind the mask of a ninja—and true peril awaits the sisters where they least expect it. . . .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really loved this book. I loved that it was light and easy but still really informative and creative. The plot is very unique, and Kimi and Hana are love-able characters. Their friendship with Tatsuya, another boy in training, is fun and sweet. I liked it because Kimi and Hana were so innocent, and the book was a nice change. I also really liked Master Goku's character. I thought he was wise and a nice addition to the book.I am also a big sucker for historical fiction, so I may be a little biased! Nonetheless, the story was imaginative and cute - I will for sure pick up the sequels!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a good book, I'll definitely be reading the next one. One thing that I wish the book had done better is to better develop the characters--the story was really interesting, but it didn't make me feel like I knew the two sisters, or their friends. I'm hoping the next one will do better in that respect, but I'm still curious to see what happens.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A girl, trying to avenge her families death, runs away with her sister, trying to find the man who separated her family. This book is perfect for people who love action and fighting, spies, deceitfulness, and much, much more!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5In ancient Japan, two sisters, Kimmi and Hana, disguise themselves as samurai warriors to take revenge on the uncle who betrayed their family. This appears to be the first book in a series. Although the historical authenticity of this title is somewhat suspect, the fast paced action sequences in combination with the current popularity of anything Japanese will make this a popular title amongst middle schoolers.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I couldn't get past the first fourth of the book. It just seemed rather unrealistic that two young children would pull out the kung fu moves and defeat adult battle-experienced samuarai, when their formally trained older brothers could not. However, the book would be good for readers who want an action packed story and can overlook this serious flaw.
