About this ebook

How many times have you sat in front of the T.V. watching the news shaking your head saying “what the hell is going on with this country” Well I said it once too often and decided to put my concerns into words. I also got tired of hearing politicians say “this is what the American people want” I said to myself wait, I'm an American people and that’s not what I want. It was then I decided to let the politicians know what an American really wants, not what they want us to want.

America A Society Gone Wrong - Chris Vaca

    YOU

    INTRODUCTION

America is the greatest nation in the world. I hate to think what this world would be like without America. Just look back in history. If America wasn’t around, the whole world might be speaking German right now. And that’s only one example. America has come to the aid of many countries over the years. We gave aid to so many people around the world. This country has done so much for freedom around the world, that I truly believe that the world would be in bloody chaos if it were not for the good old U.S. Of A. Our people have fought and died all over the world so that other people can enjoy just some of the many freedoms we enjoy ourselves. Throughout history America has been a beacon to people all around the world. We have come through the Revolutionary war, our civil war, two world wars, and are now in what many people think is our biggest fight of all. The war on terrorism is what many people think is world war III, and I have to agree. Terrorism is definitely a world threat, and must be fought wherever the terrorists are hiding. Like all other wars, we are fighting so we can be free. If anything is worth fighting for, it is definitely freedom.

    FREEDOM: (Merriam-Webster on line)

The quality or state of being free.

    a) The absence of necessity, coercion, or constraint in choice or action

    b) Liberation from slavery or restraint or from the power of another

    c) The quality or state of being exempt or released, usually from something onerous.

    d) The quality of being frank, open or outspoken.

    e) Boldness of conception

    f) Unrestricted use.

    g) Total absence of restraint, to merely a sense of not being unduly hampered or frustrated.

Those definitions of freedom are what Americans have fought and died for, for so many years. It seems ironic that the very thing we have fought and died for over the years, is the very thing that is destroying our society today.

My father once told me that too much of anything is not good for you. And I believe this also applies to freedom. It seems that we have so much freedom in this country, that we are headed into an ‘anything goes’ society. And when you have an anything goes society, chaos and anarchy is sure to follow.

Over the years the rules of society have just gotten more lax. And once you get to where we are as a people, its hard to take back what you already have given. Remember the old saying, give them an inch, and they’ll take a mile. Each time society gets a little more liberal, there is always another window to go through. When are we as a people going to say, enough is enough, and put our foot down? And say ‘that’s it’. I, as an individual, have already come to that point. I cannot believe this is the same country that I grew up in. I was born in 1952. I am a baby boomer. And I feel now like I think the cowboys of the old west must have felt when civilization moved west. Men that lived in the late 1800’s that moved into the new century, and found themselves in a different new world that they didn’t understand. Like the Margret Mitchell novel their whole way of life was gone with the wind. But I guess that’s what progress is all about.

I truly feel that I am living in another world. Every time I watch T.V. or read the newspapers, I just sit there and shake my head and say What the hell is going on in this country? It seems to me that society is going right down the toilet. I often ask myself how did we get to this point? I mean, where have all the sensible people gone in this country. I hate to tell people like Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh, but the liberals are winning. If you ask yourself whether society is more liberal than it was 100 years ago? How about 50 years ago? Even 25 years ago? The answer, unfortunately, is yes we are.

Someone told me once that the right wing of society comes down like a hammer, while the left wing is like a snake. It slithers in while nobody notices, and shoots it’s venom when no one notices until it’s too late. It’s a lot like getting old. You wake up one day, look in the mirror and wonder how the hell it happened.

I remember my grandfather telling me when I was a kid. Life is like the pendulum on a clock. It will swing one way, and than the other. If it stays in the middle, it’s broken. As I look back, it seems the older someone is, the more sayings they have. I guess that comes with the wisdom of age. But if my grandfather was right, it seems to me that the pendulum should be headed back to the right any time now. I personally think its overdue to start heading in that direction. Over the remaining pages of this book I will be putting down what I perceive to be what is wrong with our society today. Some people will agree, some people will not. No matter what you think, what I put down on these pages is what I truly feel is wrong with our society today. I’m not a public figure, and I’m not running for office. So I don’t have to be politically correct. Oh, by the way political correctness is one of the things that I feel is wrong with our society, but I’ll get more into that later.

Books have been written on both sides of the aisle, and I guess they always will, and that’s a good thing. That’s what makes America great. 300 million people cannot agree on everything. But where this country heads, the direction that it goes, is a matter of life and death to our society.

    THE THREE DEADLY ‘ISM’S

There are three deadly ism’s that can infect a society and kill it. They are in this order going from bad to worse: Liberalism, Socialism, and Communism. These three ism’s are the kiss of death for any society. Lets start with Liberalism. Now I must tell you I am a little perplexed about liberalism. I looked up the word in the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, and what I read didn’t jive with what I believe to be a liberal. Here, read for yourself.

    Liberalism:

    1. The quality or state of being liberal

    2. A movement in modern protestantism, emphasizing intellectual liberty and the spiritual and ethical contest of Christianity.

    3. A theory in economics emphasizing individual freedom from restrain and usually based on free competition, the self regulating market, and the gold standard.

    4. A political philosophy based on belief in progress. The essential goodness of the human race, and the autonomy of the individual and standing for the protection of political and civil liberties

    5. The principals and policies of a liberal party.

As I read this I was scratching my head. What I was reading, wasn’t what I believed a liberal to be. What’s going on here? So I looked up socialism.

    Socialism:

    1. Any of various economic and political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

    2. A system of society or group living in which there is no private property.

    3. A system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state.

    4. A stage of society in Marxist theory transitional between capitalism and communism and distinguished by unequal distribution of goods and pay according to work done.

Hold the phone. This sounds more like the liberals I know. Wow, it seems that liberals are not liberals after all, but are more like socialists. Now remember what I said about the snake? Slithering in and shooting its venom when nobody is looking. Well it seems for years liberals have been saying they were liberals, but are actually more like socialists. Socialists in liberal clothing. Wow, see how sneaky they are.

Now lets take a look at Communism:

    Communism:

    1. A theory advocating elimination of private property.

    2.
