About this audiobook
The Actor is a deep dive into the subconscious mind, an inner-excavation into the parts of self that go unrecognised, that seep through the cracks like black ink. As the blue-eyed blonde girl is forced to confront who is in the driver's seat. No different to a child believing strange shapes in the night to be monsters, only when brave enough to turn the light on can the illusion subside.
There is a reason why people only call out for God during crisis or orgasm. The girl preferred to visit a gypsy than pray, that would require trust and she did not possess that. Perhaps that's why the gypsy told the girl that she had a cheating heart, sensing that she did not trust herself. Or rather, that she could not trust her shadow. A broken heart's quest for love will be marred by the thorns that have already pricked, and as the pair observed the souls of three men strewn across the tarot spread, it was clear that the issue did not lie with men. "I will give you six months," the gypsy said, "or what?" the girl nervously replied.
The gypsy said coldly, "you will be lonely for a very long time."
