Aaron Swartz was one of the leaders of the free culture movement. Extremely precocious, he learned to program at the age of 8, created his first web page at 11 years old and created his first transactional site at 13 years old. During his teenage years, he contributed to the growth of the Web by participating in the development of the RSS format and the construction of Wikipedia. Aaron has been a great defender of freedom of information. He committed suicide at the age of 26, when he was about to stand trial for illegally downloading scientific archives from the "JSTOR" site. He spent his life uncompromisingly committed to his ideals and his writings remain a great source of inspiration and reflection!
