- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The littlest pumpkin is a cute story involving a pumpkin that is smaller and less interesting than the other pumpkins in the patch. The story right away opens up with the notion of dreams and hopes in doing something that the pumpkin wants to do. The story even shows the idea of perseverance and that your wish may come true in the most strangest of ways. A good example of your wish may come true in a way unexpected is when the mice use the pumpkin for Halloween which is all she wished for, “All her big dreams had come true on Halloween night.” A subtle theme that can be noticed is the fear of being alone and the need to feel accepted even when different. Every pumpkin that is there is different, some big, some tall, some fat, and some funny shaped. However, at the end every pumpkin found a home even though they were different which shows that everyone can find someone and that everyone belongs.
