About this audiobook

Get Off My Case

The first 20,000 words of this story were published as a free read for the Goodreads MMRomance Group Love's Landscapes Project. 49,000 words have been added to make this into the book my characters wanted it to be.

Shane West was used to being the only wolf shifter at the Stockton Police Department. His enhanced senses helped him do his job efficiently and he prided himself on keeping control of his animal instincts. Gay from the first day he'd shifted, he also expected to live his long life alone, and provided it meant that he didn't have to come into contact with any of his ex-pack, he told himself he was happy. And he was. Until Dimitri Polst was assigned as his new partner.

Confirmed ladies man, Dimitri Polst knew Shane from before he'd ever shifted into his wolf form. Two years older and from the same pack, Dimitri had made it his teenage mission to bring as much pain and humiliation to pretty-boy Shane as possible. But years later, he searched for that pretty boy, now all grown up, with a completely different mission in mind.

Being fated mates was hard enough, but when one man is straight and the other one has no reason to trust, then sparks are bound to fly. Add in a serial killer who is making inroads into the gay population and a possible shifter involvement, and Shane and Dimitri have a lot of thing to overcome before they get their HEA.

Warnings: This book is is a love story between gay male shifters. It includes graphic depictions of sexual acts between men, some violence and coarse language. If these things don't interest you then please don't buy this book.

HiMy name is Lisa Oliver and welcome to my Author page. After spending years writing non-fiction books, the lure of fiction and the men in my head finally had me sitting down and writing The Reluctant Wolf, an M/M paranormal erotic romance in November 2013. Since that time I have written one hundred titles including the Cloverleah Pack series, the Bound and Bonded series, Alpha and Omega series, Stockton Wolves series, The Hellhound Collar series, The Gods Made Me Do It series and many more. All of my books are M/M (or M/M/M) come with a guaranteed HEA and absolutely no cheating.I strongly believe in the power of love - and all of my books are based on the true mate trope. However, for me, insta-lust does not equal insta-love and all of my books tell of the journey my main characters need to go through to reach that state of being in love with someone special. Some of my books can be read as standalone, but in cases like the Cloverleah series you get a good idea of the back stories of secondary characters by reading the books in order.I love to hear from all of my readers so please feel free to catch up with me on Facebook, Twitter or through my blog.

    DNF.
It was a fun premise but the execution was just…bad. Shane’s main problem with Dimitri isn’t that Dimitri used to bully him, oh no. He’s just worried Dimitri might not be ok with being mated to a man. They have a little bit of a talk where Dimitri offers an extremely half assed apology and Shane quickly places part of the blame on himself for having been “too girly” back when they were kids. If you want a story where a former homophobic bully falls for his victim, I recommend Pansies by Alexis Hall. It lacks werewolves and crime, but at least the victim is allowed to be angry.

Love this book it’s very detailed and the fact that the author remember little details later on in the story is well needed in all books. There is comedy, romance, drama, and a full story not just sexy time that is why I gave it the highest stars.

Second read and I'm still loving it

Catchy shifter story of fated mates. A little bullying and a lot of teasing.

Uhhhh the bi-erasure is horrific. Written in 2018, I really expected better. And another review said the victim apologizes later in the book. Definitely not interested in this.

One of the most biphobic stories in these collections of books. Shane was determined on nearly every page to deny that Dimitri was anything less than gay just like him. Sexuality is a wide spectrum and this viewpoint was heartily discounted on almost every page. In addition, the story was extremely predictable and almost lazy in its execution. The narrator still makes some startling pronunciations. He is a Brit with a very clear voice and great pacing but it sounds distinctly Canadian and not an American accent at all.

It was ok. I’m not sure if it was the narrator that threw me or what but I found it very cheesy and I like cheese.

This was an interesting "read." I was quickly drawn in by the fantasy of having a "mate" and the sexuality of it all.
