- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was highly recommended to me in a Zoom 'lockdown' writing group. I live in Sweden and set off to find a source for it--and ordered it. In my zeal to get on with it, I found this Thalia Book Club (unknown to me heretofire) recording with the author reading and discussing, etc. Honestly, it was one of the best author interviews, live or recorded, I have ever seen or heard. I listened to it in the middle of the night, stressful times, couldn't sleep, and was spellbound. I haven't read any of the author's other books but this hour + spurred me on to get back to finishing my own writing work. I saw a one-star review for it and couldn't imagine. Zusak is terrific and I'll probably listen to it again, lights on, and take notes of some of his advice. The term 'game-changer' is much over-used these days but, for me, at a low point in my writing, this changed the game.
